S66 42PHD Coach of the Year Nominations

Post by AngryBanana »

This will differ from GM of the Year. GM will focus on the moves made throughout the season. Coach will focus on how the team performed compared to how they should have (showing that the person gameplanned well and was able to get the most out of his team).

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations)

Max is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point like last season

Submit your nominations by Friday, November 3 @ 8:00pm CST

I would like to nominate JNR for weathering the injury storm of the early season, coaching up his guys, & keeping them focused on a mutual goal: championships. As a result of his stellar coaching, the Timberwolves have the 3rd best record in the NBA despite missing some key players earlier in the season.

Gonna nominate my dude xist2inspire.

I know the story of every season is that xist takes a team that looks like it should be garbage and outperforms their talent and capabilities. This season is no different.

With pretty much 1 guy, Remy Martin, xist does what he does best, and he had a much tougher field to navigate through. The Cavs were 44-38. The Bucks, although 41-41, still had Wemby and Ware, and with Ebbe Clauer's training, they had 3 purple potential players and two players who should arguably currently be better than Remy Martin in Ware and Wemby.

He does it by identifying roleplayers who complement his team, and though I think he sometimes overpays greens when he finds them, there are very few busts.

I will nominate Panda. I think that he has done an excellent job of recouping from the Davis heel turn. While some GMs may have traded away all of their assets after not retaining their cornerstone, Panda doubled down. He produced a roster that won over 50 games, and swept the Pacers in the Playoffs. The sweep was very impressive, and I do not think anyone would have called that before it the playoffs began.

Gonna nominate Quailman. No one wants him nominated, but he traded his best players and continued outperforming. Sure the playoffs have been a bust because they’re not as good a team as the pelicans but I would have assumed they’d be out of the playoff hunt entirely.
Somehow I manage.
