Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome our stud GM jlmarines.
GM jlmarines: We were hoping last season was our year in returning to the playoffs. Unfortunately, we finished with a record of 38-44. Our anchor and leader Chief K missed 22 games. However, we saw significant progress this past season. We kept most of the team together and minimum changes to our roster. Our priority was to sign veteran players that could provide immediate depth to our young team.
GM jlmarines: We realized Chief K needed help on the defense side. We are excited to sign PF/C Jericho Sims. PF Sims is a specialist rebounder and blocker who will provide immediate depth. We are also pleased to re-sign PF/C Jae Wilcox. PF Wilcox is a great defensive player who will also provide immediate help for Chief K.
GM jlmarines: During the draft we selected the best player available. We are super excited to select PG Joaquin Guzman Loera. We think PG Loera has the potential to be an elite PG for many years down the road.
GM jlmarines: Part of our rebuilding process is to train our young studs and sign veteran players who can contribute immediately. We are pleased to re-signed PG Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa and former lottery pick PG Ernesto Cruz. PG De La Rosa and PG Cruz will compete for the starting PG position. We believe both De La Rosa and Cruz can play solid 20 minutes per game.
GM jlmarines: Here's our starting lineup for the current moment and subject to change as the season goes:
C/PF Chief Kickingstallionsims
PF/SF Jonathan Isaac
SF Karlo Pearson
SG Raphael Gordon
PG Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa or PG Ernesto Cruz
6th: PF/C Jericho Sims
Sham Smith, Bulls.com: What's the most uncharacteristically different thing you'd like to do as a GM this season that you haven't yet tried in your tenure as Cavs GM?
The core of your team are older. What does the future look like for the cavs in terms of the potential face of the franchise. Assuming they're even on the team
You have a lot of fire power on this roster. Do you worry about trying to find a distributor to give the ball to the scorers in their spots? Do you think Chief K can be the halfcourt point forward?
Are you still building a two timeline team, like you were last year? Do you think this will be the year you have to choose between a youth movement or a more veteran squad?

Great Question. Probably be on the tax list. Be more proactive and spend money on players.

Our PG core are specialist in passing. We have three PGs who can play solid 20 minutes. We plan to use three PGs and rotate them.

Great question. It will be a youth movement. Cavs long term plans include Devin Vassell and Jonathan Isaac. Thanks for the question.
