Life in tax jail is going swell. Last season was pretty basic. The Grizzlies acquired Vaughn Millsap who led the team in everything and made a push at the deadline to get him some help from Sacramento by acquiring Angelo Romero and Matisse Thybulle in exchange for KC Ndefo. However, it was too little too late and the trade did not reverse our fortunes so we missed the playoffs.
This season, we brought back a lot of talent from last year's squad and managed to almost secure the entire S65 Jazz starting lineup too with Akok Akok, Elwood Conklin, and James Orozco joining us in Memphis.
Overall, we are about 50% there to paying off this tax bill so I expect this season to be much of the same as the past few seasons. We will try to play spoiler for a bit while we bide our time accumulating points. To be honest, I am a little bored right now but that is okay. It has been nice to take a backseat and just watch everything from the outside.
Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Everyone knows the Utah Jazz culture is a super weird place. What's the weirdest story you've heard from one of the players you rescued from SLC?
Dixie Normous, MSNBC: Jason Edelstein has yet to see the court despite being in the league for a few seasons. Do you foresee yourself starting him this year to boost his trade value? Moreover, do you think his ever-evolving career as a doom metal guitarist will prove to be a distraction for the team?

Elwood Conklin endorses testicle tanning. He invited his Jazz teammates out to the Utah Valley to get in on the ritual. Nobody joined so Conklin sent them a video after one of his sessions. Check out "The End of Men" on YouTube for more.

He is still too raw for me to throw out to the wolves like that so any team that is interested in his services will just have to trust their gut and take a risk without seeing him in action. I think it is worthwhile to do so because his ceiling reminds me of Kalin Lucas from the Hawks.
Yeah, his doom metal career has not been welcomed in Memphis much. It just does not jive with their music scene so trading him to one of the cities with a bigger doom scene will do him wonders. Maybe the Wizards or Pelicans are interested?

Give me the Cavs for both. I like what Cleveland is doing with the roster build but I just dont like how they are executing the gameplan and more importantly I just do not like their GM. The Celtics confuse me from how they manage the team, but at least the GM has shown that he can take talent and win ball games.
