While this is a lovely idea, I just gotta say, there's a 0% chance Pauly would go for this. As Nate himself mentioned, there's not much depth here at all, so there's no roleplayers to send, nor did he have assets until after he dealt AB away. Plus, in this scenario, it's only Alleman going back, and as good as he is, he ain't Herb Jones. Still, I respect the swing.drkavarga wrote:Trade one of the stars plus role players to the Pacers for Jones and pair him up with AB, Akins, and Anas. Jones added to this team paired up with two of their stars and forming a big three would take this team to the next level. Trade Throckmorton, Bojorquez, Tominaga, and Cunningham plus a first to the Pacers for Jones. That’s how to make this team a legit championship threat long term. Jones is why the Pacers caught up to and passed them in the standings last season. The smart move is to add him and take this team to the finals.
Guess you missed the part where I don't have any fuc***g points.IamQuailman wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 10:39 am Clearly there was one obvious answer here. Dump ANAS for a better option at Center. Who might you ask? OH YOU DIDNT KNOW... WELL YOU ASS BETTER CALL SOMEBODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY... and that somebody is Harold Schiff. 3 team trade with the Pistons-Grizz-Suns. Pistons send Schiff, Suns send 10pts & Anas (to Grizz), Grizz send me their pick and KC Ndefo or something. Grizz get long term salary to help keep them afloat and earn points, Suns shed Anas while getting a short term upgrade. Pistons get a young center to help with the rebuild they WANTED to try and do to start the year. Schiff was destined to be in Phoenix... but unfortunately, that future was TOO BRIGHT for the Suns. Should've bought some shades (I hear the Town Hall Coordinator is giving out shade for free these days)
If I was the Pistons in this deal, I don't think I take that deal. Anas is overrated. If you can't move Schiff, just think how hard it would be to move Anas who is constantly jumping teams. Being on 5 different teams before getting a max contract in RFA? Averaging more fouls than blocks, and almost having a TO rate equal to blocks.IamQuailman wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 10:39 am Clearly there was one obvious answer here. It is almost purely because of height. Once he hits 29 maybe 30, he will slow down and foul even more. If you make him 7'0", I would rather have g/g 33 year old Dr. Andrews on that four year (no team option) Anas deal. Doug only wants Anas because this would be the first player he would not have to complain about training the player's height.greepleairport wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 11:24 am Disagree with the Anas hate. I love me some Anas. ~20 PER, .612 TS% on the season, 59% from the field, 20 pts over 33 minutes... Like I said, I be loving me some Anas.
Oh if that is the case, then yea that's fine. They can get the artificial stats and still tank for points.
Does why matter? Stats matter. We'll see how precipitous that drop off is, no way to be certain.AngryBanana wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 11:32 amIt is almost purely because of height. Shouldn't the why always matter in a trade?greepleairport wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 12:38 pmDoes why matter? Stats matter. I was shocked to be turned down immediately because Poole was not a "franchise" player worthy of a max contract. To each their own. Now excuse me while I go fap to his career year and his top 4 assists numbers. Meanwhile, you can enjoy 35 year old bum of a PG.
