Post by MexicanMamba »

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful(and I stress THOUGHTFUL) answers which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Deadline Friday 5pm, Sim #7.

Question:

Who do you think deserves to be the starting lineups in the upcoming All-Star game? And give a quick thought on as many of them as you feel like it, about why they deserve it (but at least 1).

Alpha:

PF-
SF-
SG-
PG-

Omega:

Alpha:
C- Kel'el Ware
- Lack of options, but he's also legitimately great and pumping out a double-double with 3+ blocks.
F- Safi Fino-A-Laself
- I mean, of course I'm putting my guy here. Leading the league in PER, Value added, Estimated Wins Added.
F- Victor Wembanyama
G- Johnny Davis
G- Herbert Jones
-Obviously.

Omega:
C- Harold Schiff
F- Ned Lomax
- A frontrunner for MVP as a top 2 scorer and top rebounder.
F- Alphonse Morelock
- The current best player on the 2x defending Champs.
G- Brandon Ingram
G- Darius Garland
- Still the best PG in the league. Pity he's suffering in a youth wave in Portland.

I'm doing actual positions since that's what ASG does. All league just does forward and guard without differentiation.

ALPHA
C- Kel'el Ware: He's averaging more than 20 and 10 and might be the only C in Alpha over 20.
PF- Safi Fino A Laself: He's 5th in the league in scoring. It might be Wemby because of the rebounding/edge, but I'm sticking with scoring. He probably has more assists than Wemby too. Oh yeah, Safi's top 25 in all 5 major categories
SF- Ron Harper Jr.: He's 4th in the league in scoring, which is the highest for a SF, so this is a no brainer.
SG- Johnny Davis: He's 2nd in the league in scoring, so this is a no brainer.
PG- Herbert Jones: He's the highest scoring PG in Alpha and has great numbers in AST and REB probably.

OMEGA
C- Harold Schiff: He's averaging more than 20 and 10 and might be the only C in Omega over 20.
PF- Ned Lomax: He's third in the league in scoring and leading the league in rebounds, so this is a no brainer.
SF- Alphonse Morelock: He's 6th in the league in scoring, so I'll have him edge out Scoot Henderson (who is 7th)
SG- Brandon Ingram: He's leading the league in scoring, so this is a no-brainer.
PG- Jose Alvarado: I'll go with Alvarado because while Garland has a big assists edge, Jose has much better scoring numbers on a thin Nets team.

I only allow players to make the all-star team at a position they are listed at—no switching positions to make the all-star team.

PG - Herbert Jones - The best player in the game for two years running. He carries a team, puts up his own numbers, AND makes the other players on his team better. He has my vote for MVP unless the Pacers fall off hard.
SG - Johnny Davis - The future MVP of the league. 26.8 points and 8.6 assists, enough said. Dude is on a tear.
SF - Xue Huo - While Huo is the real deal, he does not have much competition in the conference. Talk about a conference without any other SF. I think Remy Martin is the next-best player listed as an SF. I would play about 10 SG over almost all the other SF in this conference.
PF - Safi Fino-A-Laself - moving him out of the PG spot and into the PF has made his stats explode. He is versatile AF, just not a PG. The Lakers are the number one seed, and Safi is their leader.
C - Kel'el Ware - While he's the best center in the conference, I don't think he's even the best player on his team. (But I could not put Victor Wembanyama over Safi.)

PG - DeJuan Baker - Baker should beat out Darius Garland, even though Garland's numbers are better. Baker's has moved the Rockets from last to first. He is doing it even though the other stars on his team are not in their prime. He's dominating the division, so he should get the node.
SG - Antonio Blakeney - Blakeney is dominant everywhere (22.2 points, 7.3 assists, and stellar defense). This is his year, and the Suns look like they might have the Warriors' number. 2-0. But this is his last year. Blakeney is not going to hold the starting SG for the Omega Conference. Sion James is coming for this all-star spot next year.
SF - Alphonse Morelock - A warrior has to make the list. They have the best team, and Morelock dominates both sides of the ball.
PF - Ned Lomax - While the Pelicans are fighting it out in the Buddy Division, Lomax is scoring, rebounding, and defending every night. He's put his team on this back. Imagine the Pelicans without him.
C - Harold Schiff - The Omega conference is light at the center position. So light that the player coming to take his spot isn't even a center. Getting Schiff out of the starting all-star center position will take moving Phil Smith to center.

Alpha:
C- is for Chief Kickingstallionsims (if he weren’t injured) look, I could also write about Kelel Ware but what else is there to say? Many of the league’s top centers have shifted to PF over the years as bigs with QKN over 40 are on the rise, but Chief has had top tier production. And he’s also not everyone else’s answer
PF- Safi Fino-A-Laself. Fine. What else can be said?
SF- Ron Harper Jr. Maybe I should have just copied someone else’s.
SG- Johnny Davis, this is so boring.
PG- Herb Jones, I wonder if Omega can be more diverse

Omega:
C- Wondering if the Sim Gods will realign my Fabi Baby to C by the all-star game. If not Fabian, Schiff. Let’s be honest, Schiff either way.
PF- Alphonse Morelock will be the starting PF and starting SF, next question
SF- Ned Lomax
SG- Probably Johnny Davis again. Or Gerald Dixson. Gerald is kinda dope.
PG-Markus Ridenhour, two-time and reigning Finals MVP. Darius Who? Alvarad-Who? Markus baby. Markus Markus Markus.
Somehow I manage.

I would just like to say I feel like this topic requires way too much work and investigating what's going on around the league. Not to mention there's no logic with the Sim on these type of things, and hell there's barely logic in the real NBA on it.

Alpha:
C- Ware I think the bucks deserve a starter and ware is putting up numbers in a weaker C position in this conference.
PF- Safi, his numbers speak for themselves honestly and also best player on the best team(this puts wemby to All Star reserve).
SF- banchero gets this by SF deficiencies in the conference but also he's playing well and so is the team
SG- Lenz is averaging 23-5-6 bro deserves to start and the team has success.( Johnny Davis as an individual performer deserves this more but in the real NBA Lenz would be rewarded for the team's success over Davis.)
PG- herb Jones, bro Is a stud and absolutely dominating at the new PG position this season. Team success as well

Omega:
C- Schiff definitely putting up the best numbers by anyone playing the Center position in the conf.
PF-Lomax(dude is just one of the best big man and the team has some success relative to the conference
SF- Harper Jr, he's flat out balling and his team is currently .5 game out of the final playoff spot. Should be good enough(Ingram left off because team isn't good)
SG- morelock best player on the best team and not many 2 guards are playing better in the entire league anyways.
PG- Zike, leading the league in assists while also scoring decently has to mean something right?
This is your captain speaking

C- Harold Schiff

C: Kel’el Ware: I think this is self explanatory. Ware is on a tear and probably close to mvp contention.
PF: Safi: The actual MVP vote right now. He is really just gone off all year and deserves the spot. May be ASG MVP.
SF: It is hard to say Banchero, but he earned it. His +/- is very high, and the team is playing very well. So he is doing all the things right. Crazy to think he is so young.
SG: Johnny Davis. I agree with LazyTitanSmash. Another MVP candidate getting the starting nod. That says it all.
PG: Darius Garland. He is second in assists and really for Pg that is all you need to justify the spot. LOL, JK. Mr. MVP himself, Herb Jones will get this spot.

C: Schiff. I tried to look for someone else, but this just makes sense. Even after his broken leg, he is still a beast.
PF: Lomax. His argument just will get better now that AB is there feeding him the ball and taking away defenders. But to Lomax’s credit he has played other worldly and is the best big in the conference.
SF: Harper Jr. Unlike Banchero in Alpha, Harper Jr is doing this with way less help and should be rewarded for it.
SG: AB. I was going to say Ingram, but the trade the Pels made for AB changed everything. His overall game will edge all the others out. I’m not quite sure why he was traded to be honest.
PG: Nicholas Zike. Another Pelican on this list. He leads PBSL in assists and seems like reason enough for me. No Zike sike for another player too.

Alpha
C: Kel'el Ware - often overshadowed by Webyanamma but Ware is no slouch in the paint.
PF: Safi Fino-A-Laself- A former point guard playing in the frontcourt. Now this is unheard of.
SF: Xue Huo - The Mike Trout of Sim. Huo can do everything. Everything except win in Minnesota.
SG: Johnny Davis - When will this guy ever slow down?
PG: Herb Jones - Just give him the MVP award already simputer.

Omega
C: Harold Schiff - I wonder if the Pistons are trying to trade him?
PF: Ned Lomax - I know he is happy AB is coming to town.
SF: Ron Harper Jr. - Hope the Nets pay that tax off before RHJ hits UFA
SG: Brandon Ingram - If only the Spurs could clone him 5x
PG: Darius Garland - best true PG in the conference

Y’know. The sim always does an outstanding job of choosing the all stars, but let me give it a try anyway. I love these prompts. Thanks MexicanMamba for taking your time doing these. Especially since you picked it up halfway through the year.

Alpha-

C: Ware. I don’t want to start off picking a common player here, but damn is he good. I wish Walker would be here.

PF: Saul King. My boy is averaging a double double on a struggling team. Nuff said

Sf: Larry Williams. I had a whole write up on why, but my phone deleted it so yeah. He is good and I had a suns joke in here.

SG: Raphael Gordon. I had to give the Cavs some love, cause they aren’t getting it many places. Gordon is still playing well and deserves the nod for career, like the hawks starting 5 that one season.

PG: Jordan Poole. I’m hoping he gets it, because that means my guy Supreme will get there one day.

Omega

C: Seems like for Center, no matter how bad I really want to put someone different, but Schiff is just that good. Hopefully Doug finds a trade partner for him because he can really be a good asset. I’d probably would have thrown a prospect for him if I was competing, but I’m not.

PF: Was going to be Phil Smith, but he is a SF? Ok… let’s go with Fabian Hub. The best player on the two time defending champs team.

SF: Darrin Alston. One of the reasons the Rockets are flying into outer space this year. Guy is balling.

SG: Antonio Blakeney: He ain’t on the suns anymore, so we’re back to being boys. We have forgiven each other.

PG: Markus Ridenhour. He may foul a little bit, but his offensive and defensive efficiency is other worldly and deserves to be rewarded.

Alpha (probably the easier of the two to pick):
C- Kel'el Ware
F- Safi Fino-A-Laself
F- Victor Wembanyama I guess we can go 2 PFs here for the two forwards?
G- Johnny Davis
G- Herbert Jones - Point HERB!

Omega:
C- Harold Schiff
F- Ned Lomax - former Piston is doing wonders on his new squad and is the best PF in the league (maybe best player).
F- Alphonse Morelock - this guy is an absolute lock no questions about it.
G- Mikal Bridges - MY BOY! Having a break out season and coming into his own.
G- Darius Garland - if zike scored more it’d be him…
