Bobcats Press Conference

Post by drkavarga »

Hey yo! It’s survey time. Who came here to see…the Alpha Conference? Or did you come here to see the…Char-lotte Bob-cats! Survey says one more for the good guys!

Now there’s been a few changes this season but not a lot going by the roster from last season. Returning from last season we’ve got Chavez, Bulut, Markham, Erickson, Banks, McNulty, Bonilla, Flores, and Ramos. I also brought back Freitag on a new deal as well. In the draft we added Funkhouser who’s going to be a major star. In free agency we added PBSL Most Improved Player McKinley Ingram as well as Lynn Sokol, Eddie Cruce, and Rick Lemley. All of these players did great in TC and we’ve definitely are major improvements over last season. We also managed to get 2 high second rounders from Dallas in a trade, we’ll likely get a lottery pick probably between picks 5-12 going by how this season is starting, and also got 3 wins very early in the season as opposed to in January like last season. We’re set up very good for the future and almost all of the cut salary is gone after this season. That’ll free up a lot of cap space for us next season so the future is looking very bright compared to last season.

I love that, despite missing the deadline, you still put in a presser. For the love of the league and not even for the points.

Your team looks better than it has in several seasons, and a bright future ahead. Are you pleased with your start to the season or did you anticipate more or less wins?
Somehow I manage.

I anticipated a 1 win first sim at best. We have a large batch of road games between 12/30 and 3/1 this season. That stretch will determine how this season goes. I’m expecting a drop in win percentage in those six sims but the rest should be a definite improvement over last season.

Do you think you fleeced me in the Celestine/Bonilla trade?

At the time, no. I saved you same cap room with auto cut Allison being in it and Bonilla also only had B’s in three categories. He had potential but was playing nowhere near the level Celestin was stats wise when the trade happened. The only red flag was Celestine’s shooting. He literally was superior in every way at the time of the trade except for shooting percentages. After the trade Bonilla went crazy for me and his stats doubled. Celestin did improve his stats as well. Bonilla getting the boost in TC was massive and wasn’t expected. He’s gone up +10 in points after the first sim. Celestin regressed this season and in my opinion you should go all in with Cook starting at PG next season. Your team will go to the next level when that happens minus any trades, players lost in UFA, etc.
