Man. This is a good one. I have a few that I have had my eye on that I was crushing on for a few season.

Players like Gary Rockwell. Gary is a guy I talked about in my presser that I think is a type of talent any team can use. I also mentioned how butt hurt I was the Kings took him a pick before me. Imagining him and AB on the same squad, UwU does that get me going.

Another player I’ve grown to really enjoy seeing play well this season is Phil Smith. Dude is just an animal down low and is still a g/b player. He is going to be a force for several years. I can see him becoming the next up for best big as soon as next season (Schiff holds that title this season)for the Hawks. Smith is going to pair well with Daniel Johnson for a great one two punch if the Hawks can throw points at him to get him ready quicker. I’m really excited to see where both Smith and the Hawks go over the next few seasons and wouldn’t lie that I would love to have him on my team.

The third is the third I think that was mentioned in the presser, Leroy Johnston. This guy is another player that can do a little bit of everything and would cause all sorts of problems for people with AB and Bridges if he signed my deal before AB resigned. I admittedly have not paid much attention to him this season as I have ignored the suns page from over exposure of the GM trying to trade with me. Image Another reason is because he didn’t jump at my generous offer right away. Finally because the suns are playoff threats and I don’t concern myself with the enemy.

I also like to keep track of how players for my mentees play (sorry JLM I really meant no harm) I’ve also talked about this player before and how I think he will be a good player, EJ Lidell. He is already playing well in his first real playing role after being freed from the Nuggets log jam. I wonder at times if he is related to Chuck, because he can be an iceman when it comes to his performances. He is already well developed in areas that matter (100 as a 23 year old?!). The only development needed to be looked at is the PFL. Penny, do what Gary didn’t do to Romero and pay for training.

Finally the last player on my list is a sentimental addition. Zaire Wade is maybe my favorite player in PBSL history. I tried even trading for him this season, but couldn’t make the books fully work to get him back with Makur for a final Championship run. He represents a really fun period of my PBSL time, and even though I’ve got two other Guards that I’ve built around in AB and Pete, Wade will always be top tier I think. I will throw vet mins at him every off season in hopes that Josh doesn’t throw a legit contract to bring him back.

Who doesn't have a hard on for Antonio Blakeney? Look, I didn't even need to link him. We are all well aware of his athleticism, all 90s except stamina, which, how could someone possibly sustain that kind of athleticism...well...still better than lots of other players in the league. You could max everything else this guy does at B potential, and he's still in my top five. Probably atop my top 5.

AB? Call me ;)

I almost blew up my team cohesion dangling Morelock out there for this handsome bloke, Harold <expletive deleted> Schiff. There isn't a better center in the league, and I nearly traded away my build for him. Could you imagine this guy's scoring, with support from an offensive genius like Ridenhour? Yeah. It's insane, I know.

Next, I have a tie- Ken Dirks or Ned Lomax? I've a feeling most would go Lomax over Dirks, but Dirks is part 2 of the league's best front court. He can facilitate offense better than most point guards and stunt on just about anyone he likes. He will not be run over by any others defensively either, looking better than average across the board. I'm telling you, if I had gotten my Hubby hands on this guy many moons ago, he'd be a steroidal freak of nature. Lomax, on the other hand, I would not have juiced to the gills...but when I was looking to trade away Danny Campbell, I had hoped to pick up Lomax, the next closest thing to DC I could find. Total stud.

Aaaaand one more tie, probably for me only: Johnny Davis and Safi Fino-a-Laself. I'm sure most would pick Safi over Davis, but I also just love a player that just does what he does really freaking well, and Davis has done just that since almost his rookie year. Out of 5 possible all-star game appearances, Davis has played in 4. And, come February, I fully expect that to be 5 of 6. And...I guess he could swing PG if needed, but with Baker he's just a beast. Now, Safi has numbers better than everyone in the league, except athleticism. His athleticism as a rookie was shocking. He's playing respectably athletically now, with everything he's capable of doing on the floor. Makes me think of a miniature, weakened nikola jokic, just humping his way up and down the floor and somehow creating magic. It's pretty awesome.

Honorable mentions: Ron Harper Jr. and the good Dr. James Andrews, an overpay since RFA who stepped up and earned his keep. Awesome, awesome player.
Somehow I manage.

My favorites, in no particular order:

Ned Lomax, Pelicans

Adam has rightfully loved Lomax since he first got him. Me too. I'm certainly a sucker for bigs with the potential to hit the 3-ball and Lomax's B potential there checks that box. It's unfortunate that TC set him back a couple of seasons ago because I'm confident Lomax could lead a championship team if at full strength. A great two-way big who can score, defend, rebound, and score at every level.

Harold Schiff, Magic

This has to be one of the biggest rags to riches stories in sim league. Originally on the Pelicans, he was easily discarded by them after his 2nd round rookie contract ended. He was an O/Y coming out of the draft. Jumper to green after his first TC then immediately jumped to blue potential leading into his 3rd season (right after the Pels let him walk). Since then he has fought for minutes, developed and now become the best Center in the league, fighting for the lead in scoring and rebounding.

Mac McClung, Bulls

Humble beginnings for this freak of an athlete because of how raw he was coming out of college but he has all of the tools to become the league's best pure PG in short order. I only traded him myself because I had a win-now roster and he didn't fit that process like Banchero did. He's not lighting the league up in his "rookie" season but you can see in his shooting splits already that once he grows into his skills, he'll be a load.

Darius Garland, Trailblazers

He's everything that McClung CAN be except he is that RIGHT NOW. I really wanted to get my grubby hands on him this off-season to have an elite floor general dictating the offense to let Safi float and focus only on scoring. No way I could have beaten the deal Josh got for him though. The league's best PG until McClung gets there. There's nothing he can't do (except be 6'4") and he kind of excels at everything.

Victor Wembanyama, Bucks

The apple of my eye after his first TC bump that gave him a B potential in 3PS. I wish I could've seen that coming because I could have traded for him from Doug easily beforehand ha. I definitely tried my best afterwards, too, but obviously it didn't work out. Now he's really becoming the force I envisioned. 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4 blocks and shooting 36% from 3 while gaining that elusive Center purple potential. He's the key reason the Bucks currently sit at 24-17 and that they have a legit shot at quickly building another contender if they play their cards right.

Daishen Nix- so happy my dawg got his ring, he was great for me...shut down Montoya through 4 games in a playoff series before Montoya was moved to PG to avoid nix. I'm getting a tattoo, "nix gave Montoya buckets) I wish we could post screenshots here.

AB-still salivating over the idea of getting him. But his owner is being difficult) I would love to upgrade at PG, bro is a stud.

Jericho sims- the one I let get away. I think I traded him for a win now player, idk I try to forget about all the win now trades I've made where players have moved on to be great. 20&10 with 3.7 blocks is great

Peyton siva- while he's not doing much, he's my favorite college player ever and I love him. If only a certain owner...k-100 would respond to me

Kyle kuric- I think kuric is the first player I've ever traded that was of value.he was completely wasted away. Bro went purple the first TC after I traded him away. Brutal

For this exercise, I decided to pick only players who have never been on my team, and I decided to pick one player of every position. It helped narrow it down since the names are all variables representing a group of numbers and nothing more

1. Paolo Banchero

It's so rare nowadays that you get a rookie who's ready to go right off the bat. In a sense, that was always a rarity, and it's kind of a rarity in real basketball, too. Banchero is that unicorn of a player who's productive in an important role on the best team in the league. He's got a great mixture of skill and athleticism and will be purple before you know it.

2. Antonio Blakeney

My white whale. Before AB jumped and was purple, he wasn't even a top 3 draft consideration. He was slated to go to Louie's Hawks, and I wanted to work out a deal to trade up. We were so close that he renamed the guy what I asked him to because he hadn't gotten back to me in time to trade me the pick alone. I think this was the biggest mistake. Andy saw the rename which must've signaled him that AB was gettable and had a pick one ahead of me. He's been on everyone else's list, so y'all know what he can do as a player.

3. Dong Bone

Well, first, his name is Dong Bone, which is the best name this game has given us. Second, he's an offensive firecracker. Players who have insane athleticism and can score in a multitude of ways are always super fun to have, just as they're super fun to watch in the real game.

4. Ned Lomax

I think one of the most popular player archetypes is the workhorse PF who can do it all. It's basically the type of player that you can get and guarantee deep runs. There were so many choices for PF that fit the Kevin Love/Glen Sabo/AD/Montoya etc. role. So I went with the one who's probably the hottest commodity right now. He may not have the ceiling as some of the other players on the list, but he's on the trade block, so it's hard not to consider what it would take to snag him.

5. Anas Mahmoud

Well, first, his name is Anas. Second, he's a 7'4 guy with 99 INS, great defense, and quickness to play PF. But true centers are one of the most underrated commodities in this game. I think a C you can build your team around is as important and even rarer than a PG. Bucks have Wembenyama, and I would've picked him if he wasn't on my team before. Magic have Schiff. But I'm leaning Mahmoud here.

PG: Darius Garland - the best PG in sim league. He can pass, he can score, and he can defend. I wish the Blazers built a deeper bench this season to further showcase his talent but their turnaround this season has been built on his shoulders.

SG: Raphael Gordon - the Cavs found a good one in Gordon. A real good one. He just gets buckets. He is not a 2-way talent but I think his scoring is good enough to mask his deficiencies elsewhere.

SF: Matisse Thybulle - Fantastic defender, good scorer reminds me a lot like Obi Toppin. He has done really well in Sacramento and continues to be a key cog in their operation.

PF: Chief Kickingstallionsims - My favorite rename. It was meant to be a joke but after he got boosted in TC the talent became obvious. Sadly had to trade him away because of my taxes but AB gave me Folse and title #2 so it was worth it. I'm glad AB invested in him because he is a great talent.

C: Les Kim - His draft profile showed potential but he had tons of Cs across the board. Drafted him, poured 100+ points into training him and then immediately shipped him off to Los Angeles to acquire William Pearman. The trade was worth it at the time but much like Chief K, Les Kim exploded after leaving my team. He is one of the best defenders of the past 25 years. Just like I predicted when I drafted him all those seasons ago 😂

#1 Antonio Blakeney - best player in the game. He is a perennial MVP candidate and is the best example of a player who makes everyone around him look and play better. He is one of the few players in the league you can truly build a contender around.

#2 Johnny Davis - remarkable scorer. He cannot be stopped on offense. I would trust him with the last shot any day of the week and twice on Sunday

#3 Antonio Gates - The unknown wonder. So much potential. I hope the Suns unveil him soon because he looks like he is going to be real good.

#4 Gerry Folse - 6x consecutive Finals MVP. Dude is an absolute legend. GOAT. We will never see a Mr. May like him again.

#5 Harold Schiff - Best post player in the game. Scores, rebounds, defends. If Blakeney does not win MVP, Schiff is the reason.

Dejuan Baker (Nuggets) - The player chosen ahead of Herb in the draft has really settled into a really great PG. As of this sim has a 6.3 A/T which im assuming is tops in the league right now. A coaches dream tbh

Phil Smith (Hawks) - Fantastic combo of size and athleticism for the PF position. One of the best FT shooters in the league which is a rarity for a big man in this league and adds in steals on defense. Again couldnt go wrong with this guy on your team

Emoni Bates (Heat) - Earlier in their careers I viewed Bates as the perfect partner for Herb on the wings because of the amazing defensive ability Bates has contributing STLs and BLKs. Always been a high-level shooter and decent passer. A guy who can never be the best player on a title team but a vital cog who keeps the machine rolling

Fabian Hub (Warriors) - A crazy athlete at 6'11 + 274lbs with 72 QKN and 91 STR. Disruptive defender who doesnt foul too much. Super versatile player and im very excited to see what he does in a playoff run this year

Emmitt Johnson (Bucks) - Want to use the final slot to show this rando Y/Y guy some love. Put the fear of god in me in the playoffs last year coming out of nowhere to score 24 ppg with great efficiency and cement himself as one of the great random performances in PBSL history. Performing pretty decent in his role this year also before he got hurt
Pacers Ring of Honor
P.Ewing (90-93, 98) - R.Pierce (90-91) - S.Augmon (91-96) - D.Brown (93-96) - D.Strong (91-97, 99-02) - P.Pierce (98-05, 12-13) - D.Williams (05-17) - I.Shumpert (11-16) - D.Dedmon (13-18) - J.Williams (19-25, 31-32)

Fabian Hub - HE SHOULDVE BEEN MINE IF JON HADNT BEEN SO DAMN PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE :D this dude is a god damn stud. Love his build.

Antonio Gates - another future stud who has limitless possibilities in Terms of his usage. Curious to see how the Suns use him in the years to come, assuming he’s not traded away.

Victor Wembamyama - best “future” big man in the game and also #milwaukeescouting product. The worst part of walking away from the bucks was not having the opportunity to build a team around this guy… maybe one day!

Jose Alvarado - one of the best 2 way high level PGs in the game. Love this player for Ed and am glad to watch him be patient with his growth. A true franchise guard.

Antonio Blakeney - pretty obvious. #mileaukeescouting product who grew to become an elite player if not THE elite player in this league. Only reason I traded him to the Celtics years back was to win now. No regrets but still won’t stop me from admiring from afar.
