En Fuego 63

Post by Mike Lowry »

I know you thought I wasn't coming to the press conference.
Jokes on you.
This Miami lifestyle just opens up late at night...
Are we too busy poppin bottles and snortin blow off models? Maybe, but we also have some talent that won't be sneaky.
I tried to reset my tax situation and got crickets.
Fact is, you SONS OF BITCHES are absolutely forcing me to contend for a playoff series win.
I still haven't experienced one of those.
I do believe this is the best team I've put together since coming in, and that's sad considering I can't get outside talent to sign for the life of me.
We kept our guns on board though, and it's some fair fire power.
Kai is still a lot to handle, we put a big investment into Gerald Dixson, and Emoni Bates is the leader we're counting on.
Yeah, the one that was first team all league.
So we're gonna go out here and get some wins with that big 3, and see if we can shake a good deal off the half the league who decided to tank way too late.
Krebs is solid, Ainsworth is gonna have a breakout season, but our support won't make or break us.
Short rotation, our best against yours.
This is star watch in South Beach

At least during preseason, Dixson looks like he's coming into his own finally. Is this the year he breaks out?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: With the Bulls shipping out Garland and Montoya in the offseason, who do you see as the Heat's biggest threat in the division?

We're certainly gonna give Dixson every opportunity to win some scoring titles if he can get his wind up

I'm not fooled by that.
Rest of the division looks like shit, ourselves included.
Chicago still the team to beat.

Is there a point at which you fold and sell this year? The build is not too different from last year, and Kai and Bates are just getting older... They are still top talent, but how do you move forward after this year, if this is the final year for Miami's current build?
Somehow I manage.

That seems obvious to me, but I'll tell you the problem with the current state of this league:
Actually, I'll write an article (coming soon), but there's way too many teams with absolutely nothing to offer each other, and as soon as they get a toy to play with, they line up to lose a trade with one of the power brokers. So there's a hand full of teams holding all the capital. Not many teams have the combination of picks and prospects to land the talent I have on my roster, and I just spent my capital acquiring them and haven't been able to negotiate decent support players for the seven points in my bank and role playing potential at the end of my bench. So we're forced to keep firing until the clip is empty. Bladadah!

Also cashcab has a theory that sign and hold is the answer for newbs, since they know way less that the pro players.

I'm sending a proposal
And my opinion on that theory is that you can't sign and hold because you're talent will be on different timelines and the tax will catch you too early for contention. At some point you have to consolidate your assets into a win now group and take your chances.
