Nominate who you think was the most valuable player this year. Any player that was active this season is available for the award. If this goes well, we will incorporate more going forward.

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations)

Max is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point like last season

Submit your nominations by Friday, February 17 @ 4:00pm CST

*remember to link your nomination's player page.

Genaro.

http://pbsl.ijbl.net/players/player162.htm

I'll copy what I wrote elsewhere.

There are a number of great players in these playoffs, but the one name that leaps out to me regarding his potential impact in these playoffs is GENARO MONTOYA.

The Bulls have been ravaged by injury this season and yet still find themselves with their playoff destiny firmly in their hands as they are currently the #1 seed in their conference and with 2 home games vs. The #2 seed to close the season out.

The one constant? Genaro Montoya. He is the most versatile player in the league, being capable of playing, defending and dominating at all 5 positions.

Scoring- 16th
Rebounding- 8th
Steals- Top 25
3P%- 7th

And throwing in 3 assists and 1 block per game. His versatility is going to be crucial through the Bulls playoff run due to the different styles they'll face and Montoya gives flexibility while being able to drop 40 on anyone at any time.

If the Bulls grab another championship, he'll be the reason.

Bulls nominate Antonio Blakeney (http://pbsl.ijbl.net/players/player86.htm)

Blakeney's 25/4/6 line is impressive enough, but his advanced stats jump off the page too...a devilishly good .666 shooting percentage, a 28.1 PER, and almost 25 estimated wins added--more wins than 5 PBSL teams had!

I think the most important thing to note is that before the Quincy Johnson/Don Long for Mikal Bridges trade, the Celtics were 26-21. Quincy Johnson was only shooting the ball slightly less than Blakeney. Once that trade was made, Blakeney was able to go mega-iso, and with Blakeney as the sole primary focal point, the Celtics finished the season 23-12...that's a significant change. If you extrapolate the records, that'd equate to 46-36 record if they had kept Quincy Johnson as opposed to a 54-28 record. That's the difference between home court advantage and the 6th seed in the playoffs and it shows Blakeney's individual prowess.

Odd this wasn’t enforced last season when Mamba or I didn’t link. But nomination is deleted.

Since last season was the first full season of me at the helm, I let it slide. It says in the post to link what you are referencing. If you are going to rush to get a place holder in as soon as the noms are posted, for whatever your reason may be as to why you did not post a full reasoning, please at least follow what the post requests.

Spurs nominate Saddiq Bey

He has been dominant all season and was the computer's vote for MVP and they don't usually get that wrong. At 30 years old he is playing some of the best basketball of his career and has single handedly made the Nets from a playoff team to a legit tittle contender. He's a match up nightmare and more than often give teams fits.

Mason Dixon

This season's seemingly neverending saga was whether or not Quail could trade Mason Dixon. It reminded me of the John Blakemore fiasco from many seasons ago. After an award-worthy hitpiece by gman, it was looking mighty iffy that Dixon would leave Motown but right before the deadline, Mason went to Mile High and struck gold to join the Denver Nuggets. The trade transformed Denver's season as they catapaulted into first place with a 27-8 record since February 1, including an impressive 3-0 record against the former conference leader, Chicago (talk about the ultimate revenge).

Nice job Mason

The Miami Heat Nominate James "The Doctor" Andrews 2052 MVP!

My very first action in this league was to send this young man to medical school.
I think it hurt my action at a couple trades that made sense with RPF, but he definitely maxed out the talent, and now sits in position to challenge for the title.
Well played.
The guy is a monster!
Led the league in rebounding, and top 5 scorer, with an impressive 1.5 steals per game for good measure.
