Before we begin, I would hate to not thank the Oklahoma City faithful for always staying by my side. For that I am going to hold a min of silence for them

Ok. Now that we are out of that god forsaken town that was ranked second to last town to visit behind Detroit last season. Why would anyone ever move the team from Seattle to OKC blows my mind. So firstly, we would like to say to the Celtics fans that have long been waiting for basketball to return to the most holy of lands…
Ok. Onto the actual meat of the subject. Last season was something. We were initially excited about the season, but also understood we made some wrong decisions. Gauss was moved as soon as possible to avoid getting stuck with a potential hell cap with a team that was at best a 3-4 seed team. Gauss is great and I am happy that he is an important player on the pelicans, but he was not going to be as positive of an impact player for us. So then I went on to planning this off season. First order of business blow this roster up. As I previously alluded to, this roster just wasn’t it. So I needed to decide who to prioritize of this “big 3” because one needed to go. Alleman was the one that made most sense from a return perspective. So I started bumping people for trade talks. After a long period of nothing and a few other potential deals being discussed for other players - finally during the draft the Lakers and I struck an impromptu deal rather suddenly. So I felt the new core was pretty solid. I didn’t want to loose Alleman as I thought he is a top tier center, so would Anas one day.
Then I got attacked by a bear in RFA…
So, Anas instead of taking my fair, Over-asking price of ~$22mm, he took a max from K100. I don’t blame him at all. But I also did not think I would ever want to pay that contract - so we cut a deal and I got JVG. Then going into UFA I wanted to now get a big, since I went straight from that being an area of strength to weakness and me now having sooo many wings. I got a few flyers and some worked out while others did not.
Anyways, here we are a whole new team that I think provides a more flexible future then what I had last season and I still have my 1s, so I like where I am at compared to last year. I’m going to do some training of ABs PF at the very least and then hit one of the others for something else.
Don’t ask me my starting 5 because
So, Boston faithful. I know you have been waiting long for the team to come back and we are here. We will be better than the team you last saw as well constantly being forced to sign players. However, we are still a few years from truly competing and I hope you enjoy this year what it is - a Dunkin’ good time!
