Suns/Heat

The Heat needed to slice payroll and earn points, move Leiker to the Suns to accomplish both tasks AND get the #1 overall pick to help with a rebuild. The Suns, fresh off losing a 2nd Purple to the Pels, get a great PG (and current MVP-level performer).

While this trade didn't have immediate effects for either team, it was a solid return for the Heat getting rid of a player they might not be able to retain in RFA due to tax problems. Harrison was drafted originally with a pick the Heat had gotten from the Magic, so the Heat roll again, get a Pacers 2039 1st that could pan out, a young prospect in Gary Almonte, Isaiah Stewart, who they flipped for points, and of course, 10 points.

The Magic get a highly sought after young player in Tex Harrison, who fits as a second piece with Ronnie Reynolds or as a win now piece over the next couple of seasons as Reynolds and Tex grow into playing with prime pieces like Hunt and Schumann.

Finding a solid, cheap PG is tough in SLOE. Finding a solid, cheap PG on the trade block is even tougher but the Kings pulled it off. This is one of those moves that we may look back in a few seasons and see as the backbone for a championship contender build. Well done, Sacramento. And for Dallas, I wont lie, I really like Berger and Kuykendall as raw offensive talent. You got some points in the bank so invest in your projects and let em run wild in a few seasons. I see it as a win-win for where these teams are in their roster builds and one that is worth consideration for best of the year.

Kings/Bulls

Bulls get a top 5 center (NOLa made sure that was clear) and received a number of pieces that can be flipped or grow into stars. Gman flipped Miguel Thomas to PF giving the Bulls a pretty tough front court pairing with Felicio at center, and NOLa has all kinds of options. Richie Plott was the clear prize for the Kings, but who knows? Any one of those other youngsters could have a baller TC and massively increase their potential too.
