Hello, friends. We're back at it again.

Image

We'll start with a look back at last season.

I really had no clue how last season would go, and in a way it was a surprise and it wasn't. I didn't see 57 wins and a division title happening, but it did. Winning a round in the playoffs was nice, but getting knocked out by a superior Spurs team was not a surprise. I hadn't believed in the team all season, why would that change for that playoffs?

And so it continued in the offseason. The need for more talent was apparent, whether it was to win a title next season or in five seasons. Dealing for Tex Harrison as a no brainer. We tried for other trades that would have brought in win now pieces or reset pieces, but ultimately neither came to fruition. Free agency was more of the same- any worthy MLE targets wound up getting substantially paid, so that avenue yielded no results. The ROY/DPOY Matthew O'Connor left, to be replaced by capable Blair Quattlebaum.

So what does this all mean? Indifference. As currently constituted, this team is fine for winning games and if we're lucky a first round exit. But like everyone else, the goal is winning titles. This might be another slog of a season, but maybe some trades can be made to pivot hard in either direction. For now, expect a starting five of:

Eldridge Candelaria
Blair Quattlebaum
Joshua Schumann
Ronnie Reynolds
Richard Hunt

The floor is open for questions.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Ronnie Reynolds is one of the most interesting prospects on your team. What do you expect to get from him production-wise?

GWR: The investment in Tex was clear and large. What impact do you see him making over the next few seasons?

I'm not expecting a great leap forward this season- probably close to 15 ppg. What I do hope is he shoot at a better percentage than preseason. Ultimately, I know he's a player for the future and I have to be patient.

He'll probably be a combo guard for the time being but I think ultimately be the starter at shooting guard with Reynolds at the 3. I like the potential scoring he brings to the table, and the 99 jump looks great.

What do you think of the Knicks snagging DPOY and ROY O’Connor only for him to potentially play 0 minutes this season?

I'd recommend a lifestyle where you get paid $5 million annually to live in NYC and do nothing. It's a great city to have disposable income and free time, can't blame him.

Is David Hinds this season's OConnor? Will he win DPOY?

How many wins do you project this team getting this season? Are you going to finish 1st behind the Bucks or 2nd?

Good eye. I wish- I don't think he has the strength to have that kind of impact. He can play some bench minutes for us.
