Greepleairport spreads his arms like wings and makes a VROOM noise running up to the podium, clears his throat, takes a deep breath to speak, passes gas slowly and loudly, looks around, tries to speak and farts again. Presser begins.

I’ve wanted a purp my whole career. I considered trading for Jerry West for so long for his purpness, and also Syndicate’s regular inquiries about my interest. As soon as I got him, BOOM, b/b, which...of course it went down like that. But I knew Delmar would pop purple some day, and that day has finally arrived. Huzzah!

But let’s go backwards a bit.

S47 was off to a promising start with an undefeated sim1 and sitting 10-1 after sim2. I was elated. I was missing talent in the front court though, and nabbed all the PG’s in the league that were up for nabbing, surely upsetting other GMs. So I cut a deal with my inherent rival down the hall at the Staples center, Mamba, in mid December, shipping out the most expensive player in BDJ and acquiring Jaren Jackson Jr. and Clifton Cage in a deal that felt like I could contend...but the longer the season went, the more exposed we were. We weren’t that good! Not good enough anyway. We wrapped with less than 50 wins for the first time since the 2031-32 season. We bounced back with 60 wins the next season soooo here’s hoping history repeats?

No bones about it, our core of Delmar and Bias - or the Delmar Bias as I like to call it, enjoying wordplay - will be our reason for any amount of success. I planned to support them with defensive talent almost exclusively and stay under the tax, maybe getting some luck from Free Agency / TC Gods. After a miserable S47 TC, Justin Todd bounced to blue and looks better than ever on a decent expiring contract, too! Mike Burnham put in hard work this offseason, showing that he’s going to be looking for a nice contract in the seasons to come.

We’ve brought back Clifton Cage and Pete Maravich who, despite predictably bad TCs, still offer us a lot on the defensive end, and Pete is still a very serviceable PG to anyone who needs one! These guys have been great to work with, but they’ll be on the block pretty soon.

Our depth pieces of Dino Washington and Robert Kelly (sorry xist) will take their place, adding solid defensive talent off the bench in our back court. And Charles Giguere will back up Delmar probably, too. Looking better than ever Charles!

We’re mostly biding our time this year and allowing the Delmar Bias some time to shine and grow their star power. I think they’ll both have their best years ever and I fully expect both to put up league leading numbers. Len even spent some time building skills defensively in the paint, though I advised him against it cause dude - you’re 6ft tall, why are you practicing blocks but okay.

S48 goals: reset tax, Delmar Bias, win as many as possible. Then look out for us in S49 yall. We'll be hanging out postseason like Lebron:

Any questions?

You say this is a reset year, but things look wide open this season. So, why not the Lakers? Who do you see as superior competition in the conference?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: What was the thought process behind not going stronger to bring back Jaren Jackson? Did you make an attempt, or had you decided to move on?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: Two questions, do you love taking former OKC players and having them on your team, I believe I counted at least four on your current roster. Who do you see as your starting PF, Durant Badham?

This team looks good enough to make the playoffs but do you agree it’s not strong enough to push the Wizards for the division? If so, what plans do you have in the future to put you over and be a Finals type team with Lopez?

Delmar and Bias are clearly the core of this team and everyone else falls into line. Who would you consider that third star on your roster that fits in best?

I had to think about this one for a minute because it's a good point. There is not a clear contender...in Alpha. But plenty of good teams that could rise to the top - and maybe I'm one! I'm looking first at the Wizards who, like us, seem to be resetting their tax...but they still have Kidd. Cucone. Green Cuomo not looking to shabby and upgrading present and future status with Cassel. Yeah you could say I'm worried about them. Or how about another noticeable purple popping out of San Antonio, Jonathan Lewis, Yandell not far behind? They're a perennial threat and if Lewis is hitting his prime, they're trouble. Nuggs look worse than ever starting a season but Syndicate will make them a playoff team undoubtedly. 76ers look good, Bucks could be on their true ascent to a conference if not league championship, Nets flying under the radar...

Mamba's already making moves in Omega, a problem for anyone, and Nick is actually going to manage the Suns purple players, and I think the Pels are the closest to a title lock of any squad right now.

I moved on. I definitely could have (should have?) made a play here, but I did not know what value other GMs had on him. His asking price in TV was astronomical imo and I figured other GMs might meet him halfway which I wasn't ready to do, prioritizing a tax reset above a star center. Seeing he was signed for essentially a mid-level exception? Yeah, in hindsight I run that one back.

Well I'll be! Clark, Cage, Pete and Sandy. To be fair I sent you Clark :P I hadn't put much thought into taking other teams' players, though I did feel Kelly proved himself on the Wizards last year and wanted him back in LA because of it. So that one was on purpose.

We're starting with Vidal at PF but that could change. I like Burnham or Badham (burnt or terrible ham? HA) there too. We'll try a few different rotations at PF.

I agree, not strong enough. We need Todd to have one more decent TC and see if Burnham continues developing at his current rate. That could be a game changer! But ultimately we need more strength in the front court shutting down inside offense. If we fill that hole we're looking pretty good to give the league a run for its money.

Right now it's Todd if he stays out of foul trouble, but I'm keeping my eye on Burnham too. He was definitely our most crucial addition this offseason.

You signed a handful of guys to guaranteed 2 year deals instead of taking a chance with a 1+1 (team option). What did you see in this group to pay upfront instead of taking a peek and deciding later?

Yeah in retrospect I dunno! At least for all of them anyway. I kinda wanted to guarantee decent role players for my squad, but maybe I should have gone with team options in some cases lol

Random Reporter: Do you see yourself making a trade later on to improve your team's chances? Also, who's playing what role in the rotation with such a crowded backcourt?

We're planning to put Cage and Pete on the block for points mainly, at which point we'll have Kelly at SG and Dino coming off the bench to support SG and PG. Giguere backing up Delmar at SF. We're pretty crowded with middling but strong defensive talent, and while I'm not looking for a trade necessarily, I'm open to negotiation.

Until Cage and Pete move, Kelly will come off the bench at SG. Unless I change my mind. I might change my mind.

What team you think in the conference will be your biggest competition?
