As GM of the Detroit Pistons, it gives me pleasure to formally announce the hire of Messi_2.0 as assistant GM effective immediately. We have had a long working relationship with Messi_2.0 since before he joined the league originally and think he would be a great addition to a staff that sometimes loses focus. Based on the difficulty I have had fully dedicating myself to this league like I once did, I am excited to have Messi_2.0 on the team to help with the revitalization of this once great franchise. We do expect his time here to be short since he will be in high demand as other GM opportunities become available, but we are glad to have him here in the interim during that job search.

To be clear, trade offers should be directed towards both of us. We will then discuss internally before any decisions be made.

I'll turn over the mic to Messi_2.0 if he wants to make any statements and then we'll leave the floor open for questions if you have them.

Will two half-active GMs make ownership of the Pistons 100% active, or will it multiply into just a quarter of activeness?

Why doesn't the Pistons GM just quit.

Because my buddy is waiting on a team and I'm giving him something to do.

If he wanted to quit, he would just quit. Not hire an assistant.

He's basically saying since you don't have as much time to be a full-time GM, why not let Messi take over fully as the Pistons GM.

That really wasn't the point of this guys. Garrett is on of my oldest friends who has already been in the league for an extended stretch. I was giving him the option to help out if he wanted to while he waited and he agreed.

I get the feeling people want to run me out of here more and more every season. 'Preciate the support.

No way. I want you to stay like most everyone else. I have no problem with this and I doubt most people do. For some reason Inner brought it all up.
