#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

This is the year. Last year, we are putting it behind us. We made big time moves to try to sneak up on the Alpha Conference last season by adding Ja Morant and Derick Hunter. But unfortunately, we hit a brick wall in L.A. and lost a couple big guns (Morant and Schumann) to injury. That left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths and we came out into the off-season hungrier than ever. With teams like the Kings and Raptors looking to reset/rebuild, there were definitely going to be some talent available in trades and playoff seeding to go after.

After a few failed attempts to move into the top of the draft, we decided to shift our focus to getting another big name. It came down to two deals, but due to impending decisions in RFA, we decided to go forward with the move that could be done ahead of RFA. In probably one of the more aggressive moves in the history of this franchise, we moved up-and-coming pure PG Chadwick Dangerfield, Derick Hunter, and pick #17 for Bjorn Ironside. His championship pedigree and MVP-level of play are just what we needed to bring this team to the next level. With the void created in moving Dangerfield, we shipped out the player selected at pick #15 (acquired from Timberwolves) to bring in Don Sanchez from the Wizards.

Shifting to Free Agency, we managed to lock up Justin Rodriquez long term and Conrad McCrae on a team friendly deal (thanks Nick!). While we didn't hit the home run we had hoped for in UFA, we did manage to re-sign Terry Perez, a mid-season acquisition that brings alot of talent to the forward position off the bench for us. We also are excited to bring back Randall Russell, sharp shooting outside weapon for our back court. Through waivers, we nabbed Naz Reid and Jere Ratliff for additional depth.

We are feeling really confident going into this season with one of the strongest squads we've ever been able to put together on the court. The line-ups may take some tinkering to see who fits best where, but we are looking for to the challenge and the chance to take over the Alpha Conference!

Since the three roughly occupy the same space (wings that can stretch to a non-traditional 4), what are the chances that all 3 remain in Bucks jerseys through trade deadline? If you absolutely had to move one of them, who would it be?

With three great wings, it looks like you'll have some small ball minutes. If no moves present themselves, do you think you can win it all with Jrod at PF?

Great question, I'm 99.9999999% certain that all three will finish the season here. That said, as always, if we get blown away by an offer or an injury derails the system, we will assess the situation at that time. As for who we would trade if we had to, probably Bjorn, only because he's an expiring 32 year old that I may or may not be able to re-sign in the offseason.

Not gonna lie, i was expecting to bite the bullet, but happy to see that his value around the league was right around where I had offered. So i'm very happy there wasn't a max bid out there on him

Who is your team leader? How will you teach him the way of slime? What was the slimiest move of any GM this offseason?

Yes, with some capable rebounders at the 2-3-5 and backup positions, we think JRod's lack of rebounding ability will not be an issue for us.

Team leader, even though he is a newby, is Bjorn Ironside. He came in and demanded excellence in the lockerroom. Everyone gets quiet when he speaks. That said, he may not be here long enough to need to learn the way of the slime.
