Spurs Preseason Presser

Good morning everyone. I haven't done one of these in a while. Need to do this before I start playing God of War on the PS4. The GF wants to watch me play on this Memorial Day. First off I would like to give congrats to the Kings on their Championship. Our spurs season ended in blowing a 3-1 and getting our ass handed to us in game 7. We learned quickly that we weren't bout that championship life. The players were disappointed with their effort in that game 7 and Grayson we found out like Real Life Anthony Davis does not like playing center. Even though we got thrashed by the eventual Champs we felt like last season was a success. We didn't expect to get past the 1st round against a really good Wiz team or even be a 50 win team.

After the season ended we told guys to stay in shape and that we were going to try to run it again next season and hopefully get further than the 2nd round. We knew some players had to make decisions on if they wanted to return or not and for the most Part they did. With the addition of Paugh we are hoping he add that championship pedigree to our locker room. I think we have a good roster going into this season but we all know games aren't won on paper. TC was good to our young core guys who will be future of this franchise. We gotta figure out what rotation works for what we are trying to accomplish. We are looking forward to competing and hopefully bringing home another title to San Antonio this season.

If There are any question please ask and I will answer the to best of my ability

Who could you describe as the possible Teddy Bridgewater or Orange Cassidy of the Spurs this year ahead?

Romeo Langford is the Teddy Bridgewater of the Spurs. He can come in and start if there is a backcourt injury that will last for a few sims. I feel the backcourt wouldn't miss a beat if we had to plug him into the starting sport. Speaking of orange Cassidy or AEW related things did you enjoy the main event on Saturday Night?

I did for the most part! Could've done without the spot in the pool but everything was interesting at least and played in to the character strengths. I felt like Adam Page came out of that event the best.

Championship or bust? Who's your biggest competition to get there?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: With Jonathan Lewis and Robert Bonnet headed into RFA, and Clifford Paugh on the last year of his contract, how does the decision to try to retain Paugh factor into your strategy for this season (and vice versa)? Does it make winning a championship this season more important? And does winning a championship (or not) change whether you will offer him a ton of money in the offseason?

With your team now a powerhouse, do you miss having BDJ on your team?

Hopefully this current team can make a deep run into the playoffs this season. I would be disappointed if we don't get past the 2nd round. I think this team the way is constructed can make a deep run but there are some good teams out there like the Bucks, Bulls, Clippers, Lakers, Pacers and Pelicans just to name a few who came win it all this season. It's going to come down to being healthy and some luck to win it all this season.

Lewis is High Priority on our team's list. We will retain him at all cost. Paugh we will see as the season go which route we would go as far as retaining him. One good motivating factor is not having our 1st the following season. It may come down to that being the reason to break the bank for him. As for bonnet we plan on bringing him back also. If our team wins a title this season we will try and run it back next season. If we have to offer Paugh a ton of we will. I saying this now, ask me this same question at All Star Break I may have a different answer lol.

I will always miss him. I renamed him when I drafted him as a tribute to one of my favorite pels player that past away. I still can't get over Josh Smith being gone lol. BDJ was suppose to be 12 years a Spur. I was happy to see him lead the Kings to a title. Trading him was one of the hardest decisions I had to make recently. Win or lose I wanted him to spend his whole career as a Spur.

Idk if there's one out right leader on this team. It could be Grayson, Dan Yan, J Lewis or even Charlie Porter. As the season goes on a leader may emerge. I just think these guy enjoy being around each other and playing together.
