Taking commissioner prerogative, I'm amending this Season Awards rule:
This only applies to nominations that are NOT self-nominations.
Once nominations are submitted, voting will get you 3 points like the old days.
Please submit your nomination for Trade of the Year below

Wizards Receive:
Romeo Langford
Spencer Haberman
10 points
Pelicans Receive:
Phil Brooks
I accept. Sorry Phil, but the tax man is a cruel specter. Thanks, Nick. Always a pleasure. Good luck!
Hate to toot my own horn a bit here, but as far as impact goes, only the Spurs/Blazers Grayson trade can equal this one in terms of completely changing the direction of a team involved. For the price of a solid SG, an okay prospect, and points, Nick got an All-Star, a top 5 scorer, and the catalyst to start a makeover that vaulted his team from 32 wins to 50+. As for me, I later traded Romeo for more cap relief and a pick, which - combined with the 10 points - allowed me to speed up my overhaul by picking up Kevin Stephan and Douglas Harris. So yeah, this deal drastically changed Nick's current fortunes and improved my future trajectory in numerous ways, some of which are immediately noticeable. I think that qualifies as TOtY-worthy.

I was going to come up with a different just for differences sake but, I think this is correct. So, allow me to co-sign.

Oh, well, nevermind.
I'll go with the Grayson Allen trade instead

Knicks/76ers two-part trade that was revised later to help get Knicks under the cap which also led to AC Williams being cut, the only B/B player to ever be cut like that.
Big for getting Knicks under cap, Nuggets got AC and are in the playoff race with the 76ers, and it was kinda funny with the two part trade.

It seems like such a long time ago, but I'm between two trades that happened early on in the offseason, and they both involve my pod pal JNR. I talked about the Ja Morant trade with Doug in my GMOY nomination and how well that worked out for the Bucks. I'm not in love with Harker or Zylan Cheatham individually, but I do think that was a good return for Raby...two y/b rookies who have plenty of time to grow or improve, and I think that it was totally a worthwhile move for both of them.
I also liked the Timberwolves/Nets trade, where JNR got OG Anunoby...another rookie who has incredibly high potential (but will need some care in training). I like Anunoby better than Harker or Cheatham, and while Luka was a great player, getting Harvey Daniels, and the Nets 1st (projects to a green potential guy) is a nice return. While Luka's an incredible player, and I really like seeing Ed make an aggressive move like this, Luka didn't have as much of an impact as he could've for the Nets. I would've loved to see the Nets strike a followup deal or somehow have pulled off the Luka trade while keeping Phoenix, who would've been a fantastic defensive and rebounding big to pair alongside Luka.
It's a tough call. I commend Raby for getting a solid, non-slimy deal in both cases...especially with Doug. I think that Quail might have gotten a little more bang for his Bucks because his team was in a better situation to onboard a guy like Morant, but Ed NETted the better player (in a vacuum). Raby also got a stronger return for Doncic, but that's the way it should've been...and I think he definitely maximized the return on Morant to get the best deal possible.
As much as I hate to nominate the Sultan of Slime for yet another award, my vote goes to Bucks/Timberwolves
Bucks send:
Peter Harker
Zylan Cheatham
Timberwolves send:
Ja Morant
It's a clean deal that maximized the return for both teams by swapping players that were efficient fits for each destination team.

Elisha Davis
Alton Hill
Chad Wallace
3 Pts
Magic send:
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Tony Ellis
Not a blockbuster by any means, but I think this trade best exemplifies 2 GMs who realized that this wont be their year so they start to look at planning for the future. Both teams struggled to get any traction in their divisions from the beginning of the season so this probably could have been a day 60 deal, but I really like what both teams accomplished once they finally decided to trade.
For the Magic, the "rebuild" phase is officially getting started. I think Sterner is a good building block to pair with Richard Hunt in the backcourt and Davis is a serviceable reserve on a friendly contract. With Bronny's UFA status up in the air, the Magic have set themselves up for another sign & trade to gain more prospects to team up with Hunt/Sterner in the years to come. I dont really see the Magic languishing for too long because of their massive point bank so Sterner could be the beneficiary of extra training next season, especially since the Magic are going to miss out on a lottery prospect this year without their 2034 1.
For the Bulls, I think this trade was a twofold success. JJJ gives Silky another win-now piece should the Bulls decide to cash in Turney this offseason and make a run next season. Secondly, and probably more importantly, I think the Bulls were able to get the best return they could for Terry Sterner before risking him to a potential TC hit next offseason should they continue their run with their super rookie contracts - Loredo, Turney, and Felicio.

Clippers send:

Joe Futrell
2036 Pels 1st round pick
Nuggets accept.
Good luck in the playoffs, Roberto!
I posted about this in the meme thread when it happened. Clippers are a true juggernaut this year, and after this trade, they had ONE y/y, ONE g/g, and suddenly the rest b/b. I don't even know how this impacted the nuggets (sorry syndicate) but when I thought I was a true threat before a late 2-6 sim, I thought this was a Raptors-like nail in the coffin for my Lakers (no disrespect, NOLa., obvs I'm still coming for you too). Clippers are solid solid solid this year, and the only area they lacked support was the 3pt game, and suddenly they had a top 5 3-pt shooter without losing much at all.
(checks top 5... checks top 10... sees michael garvin ahead of curtin)
man eff the clips but well played mamba, my nomination for TOTY

Pelicans Send:
Randy Abny
Leroy Haugh
2034 1st
2036 1st

The controversial sign-and-trade that almost didnt happen. More importantly, the trade that set both teams along their path to greatness this season. Lopez was always destined to be a Pelican, but due to some unexpected signings in UFA Round 1, the Pels almost couldn't pull the trade off. The Clippers were now suddenly on the hook for 37mil more in salary than they were expecting for this season (and $160mil+ over at least 4 years). Mamba really had to change his approach from being a lux tax reset contender to OVER THE TAX contender. Fortunately, the Pelicans had the pieces and salary to make it happen. And the rest is history. The Pelicans acquired Phil Brooks earlier in the off-season, but that trade would've been all for nothing without the addition of Colby Lopez. He checks so many boxes for a wing player (or even stretch 4). He the 1st big name that would lead to one of their best turnarounds in recent history, and lead to him being named GMOY. For the Clips, Abney and the Pels 36 1st would eventually lead to some great depth for the Clippers in Laurence Curtin, and Haugh was moved to yours truly for tax savings. Season defining trade for the Pelicans, and one that really defined how Mamba would have to approach his quest for a title.
