#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

Good morning and welcome to the San Antonio Spurs Preseason Presser. I would like to thank all in attendance for being here this morning. First off our team would like to send our deepest condolences to the victims of the attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept 11th. Those acts of terrorism were cowardly attacks on our country and I believe our government will do whatever they can to bring these punks to justice. We are the United States of America. We are not going to let these people take away what it took centuries to build. Once again we as a Spurs organization send our deepest sympathy to the families affected.

Our Spurs team made a post season run this past season and got swept in the first round. We aren't satisfied with just being there but want to go deep into the playoffs. We felt we needed to make some moves in order to get us in a good position to plug in some holes on our team. We Moved up to Draft Big Sam to fill the void at the Center position. A void that has been there since the departure of Dale Davis a few seasons ago. We feel that even with the results in Sam's TC he will continue to improve. We may have to take center by committee approach for right now and see how things go from there. This conference is tough and we just hope that we can improve on what we did last year and go further into the playoffs. I believe this team on paper is good enough to do that but games aren't won on paper. We will see what this season has in store for us as a team and organization. Hopefully something memorable.

Sorry if I went all over the place with my opening statement but if anyone have questions feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my ability.

Who is the primary scorer on a team with three elite scorers? Also, can Tyronn Lue be a championship level PG?

Nick Melon; Charlotte Observer: Do you see Sean Elliot shooting more threes or waiving the team Pom poms and telling everyone he sees how good the Spurs are and can be this season ahead?

We are hoping Tyronn will play a big part in a run this year. He's improved this past Camp and looked good in a few of the preseason games. We still have Mookie to plug in if need be. There have been teams with PGs that were yellow that got teams to the Finals. They just did their part and got a title. We hope we can get the same results.

As for primary scoring one day it could be Shareef. One day it could be Big Dog, Ray Allen or even Lue. It's a good problem to have but our team's biggest issue had always been Defense. If we can play good defense on a consistent basis we will be hard to stop.

Sean will play a big part on this team this year. Maybe even our 6th man of the bench. We saw what he did last season and that's why we went after him during FA. We didn't sign him to be a Mark Madsen cheerleader.

We are going to try and play better team defense because we really don't have that one lock down guy. So we gonna have to collectively play great defense.

I actually made a few trades already. Damon is gone and I moved up in the draft to Pick Sam. If I have to I will make trades but to trade just for the hell of it. ........ nope.
