2030-2031 Bulls Preseason Presser

The 2029-2030 Chicago Bulls season was a success by many measures. We finished with a tremendous 67-15 record, the best in the Alpha Conference, and won the tightest division race in the league against the Portland Trailblazers. However, after winning an extremely important game 7 against the Rockets in round 1 with our first team all league big man, Wanderlei Silva, sidelined with a broken jaw, it was the Trailblazers that won the war. Despite being down 3 games to won in the second round, the team battled back, taking the next two to force a game 7 back in Chicago. We were unable to keep momentum on our side, and foul trouble caused us to lose a 20 point lead coming out of the half and a double digit lead going into the 4th quarter.
The 2029-2030 Chicago Bulls season was a success by many measures, but the goal of the 2029-2030 Chicago Bulls was to win a championship, and that didn't happen. It fell apart spectacularly.
10 of the members of the 2029-2030 Chicago Bulls are on the 2030-2031 Chicago Bulls. They all still have the same goal. We've also added on a handful of guys with the same goal. Arthur Cornish and Cedric Pruitt return to Bulls uniforms on the deep bench. Hyman Low adds a very solid, reliable force to our front court. Darnell Mitchell adds tremendous athleticism to the wing position. And Chris Pallies adds a stubborn desire to prove he's worth a better long term contract next year than he was offered this year.
Coming out of training camp, we were happy to see that Leroy Haugh and Andre Betts both remained committed to their conditioning and they come back as strong as they were last year--Nassir Little and Daniel Bowens, too. Wanderlei Silva and Patrick Edmunds both look like they're at the peaks of their games. But the guy who we sprang for in RFA, Silky, made the most gains on our team. His clutch performances in the playoffs to keep us viable without Wanderlei, and the work he's put in this offseason have earned him the starting point guard spot on day 1. Leroy, Patrick, and Wanderlei will all be guaranteed starting lineup spots, but we have a couple of options on where to put them. Nothing else has been decided yet.
In RFA, AC Williams understandably took a max contract offer that was a little higher than we had in mind given our payroll. We're sad to see him go (again), but with the signings of Hyman Low and Chris Pallies, we feel like the frontcourt is in good shape at a fraction of the cost.
We're looking forward to competing again this season, and we're optimistic that we've gotten stronger and are ready to prove it on the court. Until then, we leave the floor open for questions.
