The D.C. War Decree

Dammit, it's already that time again
Dear #SLOE,
Last season was fun, but anticlimactic. We started off extremely strong, but lost the division title once the eventual champion Bucks passed us up and did not look back. We also returned to the playoffs, where we exacted revenge on Orlando for our prior defeat...and were then destroyed by the eventual champion Bucks.
Bucks/Wizards, a visual representation
So then, the Wizards organization must regretfully inform you that we have declared war on the league.* We have authorized our front office to use lethal force in securing talent such as Phil Milburn and Russell Caraballo during free agency and the draft. Our facilities have been upgraded. We have developed new technologies such as anti-aging serums for Milburn, Kingston, Robison, and Williams and potential growth powders (PGPs) for Cuomo, Caraballo, and Brooks. We have established an efficient and powerful rotation. We have elite strategists formulating our plans. You will not stop us.*
Not really, but you get the point
Resistance is tolerated.* Submission is inevitable.* Surrender is encouraged.
*We reserve the right to retract these statements and punk out in case of any situation where it is deemed necessary to do so, such as, but not limited to: injuries; poor performance; stronger competition; luxury tax concerns; and just straight-up losing.
Sincerely,
The Wizards Organization

You clearly have talent in the starting lineup and off the bench. Do you consider yourself the favorite of the Omega Conference?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: Are you excited about the growth of Phil Brooks?

All jokes aside? No. I consider us to have the best overall team, but there are several teams in the conference - like yourselves - that have legitimate generational talents on their rosters capable of carrying a team on their back at any moment. Sometimes that's all you need. As of now, without any meaningful games having been played, I can only think of us as a top contender, nothing more.

Hell yeah. It totally caught me off guard, but having Brooks show this kind of promise so early is a great sign for our future, and will definitely make things a lot easier going forward. I just hope it continues.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: We've seen stacked, expensive teams like the Spurs win championships in spite of impending tax trouble. This roster definitely looks like it has the firepower to win it all, but with no guarantees in PBSL, how long do balance keeping this team together long term with tax obligations and limitations? Is it this year or bust? Are you prepared to roll it back at the expense of the future? How does winning it all or not this season affect that?

This is pretty much it for this iteration of the franchise. This plan was designed to give me a short-term run of having a stacked, yet relatively affordable team, and the rapid improvement of our youngsters has only made me more comfortable with proceeding to the next phase. I will not compromise the future for the sake of possibly winning multiple titles with the same roster. The only thing wins or losses will affect this season is how soon I pull the cord and move on.

Is being in the same division as the Bucks pushing your team to go harder and further than ever before?

Not really, to be honest. The realignment just happened to...
align with my plans.

If your players were aboard the Titanic whilst she were sinking and there was only one seat remaining on the last lifeboat, would you rather have J.R. Johnson or James Shaffer take the seat? And why? I expect a very thorough answer, by the way.

James.
1. Cheaper deal
2. Younger
3. Better Perimeter Defense, so he'll be able to spot and defend against hazards
4. The captain has to go down with the ship
