Hi All, Raptors Gm here.
I'm sure you have questions, and I will get to them but let me try to answer most of them before you ask. I sure the most buzz around here are wondering about the decision to trade Joffrey Baratheon. This was not a decision we made lightly. We were in no way, shape, of form looking to trade Joffrey. We made this very clear to a few teams that made offers, including the Bucks. We are still perplexed on how rumors even got started. We were thrilled with Joffrey and felt we had groomed him to be the best PG in the league. He was literally my favorite player I have ever had. We were not completely thrilled with back-to-back first round exits, but surely do not blame Joffrey for that. There are just some offers you cannot refuse, and we felt the Bucks had made one. The offer grabbed our attention and after looking at the age, potential, and fit next to Bjorn we decided this was too good to say no. It was gut wrenching but we felt is was the right thing to do. Joffrey will be missed and we will make every effort to have him back in the future. Let this be a lesson that Raptors will be responsive if you come with a decent offer, if not you will be ignored.
As for the rest of the team, we have shifted focus to somewhat building again. We are thrilled to have RJ and Lino and can't wait to see what they can do on the court for us. We are just as excited, if not more, than most of you to finally see RJ play in meaningful games.
Thank You
