First, we'd like to thank you all for coming. Our austerity two seasons ago to get under the tax has paid dividends in back to back championships, and we wanted to repay the fair media coverage, a few lucky fans, our excellent players and coaching staff, and our top-notch GM and Owner for all their hard work and dedication. What's a few extra shekels for this experience, aye?
Yes, we can't start this press conference, nor tell the story accurately of our success without looking back two seasons to our 63-win championship team that also served as a tax repeater reset year. It allowed us to compile more talent last offseason to add incredible depth to an already talented squad which we instrumental in our repeat performance last season. Sure they don't give out Coach or GM of the year awards for the post-season, but any season where you win the last 8 games and hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy, you've done something right.
So this offseason, given our glut of points (thanks to not being able to train purps), only 2-year repeater status, and solid core, we had one mission:

So did we overpay to bring back Otto Porter who we knew would have lost a step in the offseason? Totally. Did we shell out a bit too much on greens only for the TC banana sun to ripen them into a sweet sweet yellow? Absolutely. Are we still the odds-on favorite to win the title, though? You better believe it. Oh yeah, and Gustave LeCroix is here.
No team has ever won 3 in a row. We're about to give it our best shot. I may not be anyone's first choice for GMOY in any year, but after this season I officially enter the GOAT conversation, and that's more reason to be proud than anything else I've done in Sim League.
