#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

NEW RULE: NOMINATIONS NOW GIVE YOU THREE POINTS. YOU WILL RECEIVE ANOTHER THREE POINTS IF YOUR NOMINEE GETS INDUCTED

Welcome to the call for nominees to the People’s Basketball Sim League Hall of Fame. The rules are simple. Nominate a player you think deserves to be mentioned among the greatest players to play in this league. Championships, all-star appearances, funny picture blogs: all of these things could mean enough to warrant a nomination. There’s only one requirement: the player has to be retired from the PBSL. There is no time restriction on retirement – as soon as a player retires, they are eligible for the HOF.

-Nominees on the ballot with over 75% yes votes get into the HOF
-Nominees on the ballot with over 50% yes votes (but under 75%) are automatically considered for next year's ballot ("free" nomination that doesn't cost any owner a yearly nomination).

NOMINATIONS WILL OPEN FOR ONE WEEK, ENDING AT MIDNIGHT NEXT WEDNESDAY, 3/13. I WILL RELEASE THE POLLS SOON AFTER, WHERE YOU WILL HAVE TWO WEEKS TO VOTE.

As I am transitioning to offseason for these posts, I will collect the last two years of retirees. Here they are:

On behalf of the Chicago Bulls, I would like to nominate Russell Westbrook to the PBSL hall of fame.

When the Bulls traded Victor Oladipo and TJ Warren for Russell Westbrook, I was wary that even though we knew Russ was a phenomenal player, could one incredible player make up for losing two great players? Despite the loss of TJ Warren at SF, Russ's presence at the guard spot more than made up for it. The season, off to a lukewarm start that did not meet expectations, turned around. Russ took us to the conference finals. The next season, he was the Playoff MVP when he lead the Bulls to our first championship in PBSL history. He means a lot to the fans in Chicago, but he also means a lot to the fans around the rest of the league.

This was the 2nd time that Russ won Playoff MVP, and it was his third ring after winning 2 with the San Antonio Spurs. Among other platitudes, Russ made the all star team 9 times. He made 3 all-league first teams, one all league 2nd team, and 2 all league 3rd teams as well as 2 all-defensive second teams. He led the league in steals once, and all-time, he's got the 2nd most steals behind Ricky Rubio. He's 4th all time in assists with almost 10,000. His 25339 career points in the regular season puts him in the top 30 of all time, and most of the folks above him on that list don't have as many rings.

Kevin Durant. Need I say more? Ever since he entered the league in 2007, he's ranked amongst the most proficient scorers the game has ever saw, though oftentimes overlooked by the likes of Kevin Love and Anthony Davis. Behind averaging nearly 30pts per game (23.9), he also averaged 6.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 0.9 steals in 35.5 minutes. His 15 All-Star appearances, 2 All-Star game MVPs, 8x All-League First Team, 3 MVPs, and 1 Championship should be more than enough to get him into the Hall of Fame. There's no doubt about this addition!
