GM Roy: Well last season didn’t go as planned. We felt we had the talent on the roster but definitely lacked direction. That falls squarely on my shoulders. I blindly threw money to assemble great players but didn’t put any thought in how those players fit together nor put a lot of energy into implementing new gameplans to attempt to improve. I simply assumed we would have more talent than our opposition so therefore we would prevail. When we didn’t it was a humbling experience.
We decided in the off-season we had very little chance to pay off our tax so before we go even deeper let’s do what we can to pay off what we owe, stop the repeater violations and try to rebuild around Ulis again. We let Schroeder walk, traded away KAT, Brown, and Saric and received some Ayton, Barger, Love, a pick in the draft, future first and some much needed cap space and points.
We had a good enough camp and are now ready to rebuild around a new core of Ulis, JDLR in the backcourt and Ayton and Milburn in the front court who are all under 27.

Are you confident that you'll be able to pay off your tax before having to pay Ayton next season in RFA?

Who do you see occupying your small forward spot on the starter and the bench?

In spite of the financial limitations, you appear to have another impressive group again. What are the playoff expectations for this team?

Can Kevin Love be the missing piece to bring a title back to Beantown?

We know it’s going to be close but we think we can get there.

We surely hope so. It won’t be because of lack of playing time, we’ve been creative with him in rotations in the past. Not this year a lock in the starting lineup and lots of opportunities.

Phil Milburn may see some time there. Nathan Thompson may begin the season with the starting 5 but that looks like the position that we will have to work around.

We had a good TC and retained Tyler Ulis an all league player and still have JDLR with his purple potential. Add in Milburn and Kevin Love and we don’t hate our team. The first two or three sims will really determine our expectations right now I’d say we are in that 7-11 range.

We’re gonna see what he’s got left in the tank. Bringing a title back to bean town is throwing a lot of expectation on the big fella

Do you feel the Celtics will have the Luck of the Irish this season and top the other powerhouse teams in your division?
