Upcoming Milestones

Anthony Davis of the Pistons is just 75 points away from 30,000 career regular-season points. He's already #8 on the all-time scoring list and it seems likely he'll pass LeBron James for #7 by the end of the season... and there is an outside chance he could displace Tim Duncan for #6 all time. This is even more scary when you consider Duncan played in 465 more games than Davis has (and LeBron has played even more than Duncan)!

Kevin Love of the Phoenix Suns is likely to pass up both Shawn Kemp and Tracy McGrady this very sim in career regular season points and is a mere 72 points from 35,000 regular season points... a mark only Chris Bosh and Kevin Durant have reached. Barring injury or benching, he'll get there before the sim is complete! He's also creeping up on Tyson Chandler for #4 in career rebounds, only 45 behind Tyson. Again, he's likely to catch him this sim, but if not, certainly next sim.

Speaking of Kevin Durant of the Charlotte Bobcats, he is closing in on 40,000 regular-season points scored. At his current pace, he is likely to make it by the end of the season, with the most likely date on 3/29 versus the Toronto Raptors. He would be the first player every to cross that scoring line.

The ageless Al Horford has settled into the #10 spot in career rebounds and should pick up the 85 boards he needs to pass both Carlos Boozer and Tim Duncan within a couple of sims (probably doesn't happen until early March). Horford has been really good for a really long time, but I didn't realize he's been THAT good. Dude is totally the face of the Rockets' franchise.

When I ask you who the career assist leader is in the PBSL, do you say, "Deron Williams?" You would be wrong. It's Ricky Rubio, who has quietly accumulated 211 more assists than Deron already. In addition, Chris Paul is 269 assists behind Deron and while he won't get there this season as a backup on the Raptors, even in a backup role he would have a reasonable chance of catching him next season as long as he's in a rotation (cheer up, Chris, at least you've got the steals record for now).

And finally, because ignominy is hilarious, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Tracy McGrady's 4,190 turnovers are safe - the next closest active player, LeBron James, isn't getting enough run to accumulate the 300 or so he would need to catch T-Mac. But I do have to give props to the recently-traded-and-most-likely-about-to-retire Greg Oden. Greg has 4,516 personal fouls in his career, and is the #1 player all-time in fouls committed. The next closest active player (if you can call it that) is Josh Smith, who is over 600 fouls behind. Greg, I think you own that one forever... or at least until Julio De La Rosa gets ready to call it a career!
