We Made it ! College players who transitioned and became stars
Posted: Thu Aug 23, 2018 12:33 pm
In the past when you asked who the stars were of the league, everyone know the answers: Kevin Love, AD, Horford, Greg Monroe, Russell Westbrook, Durant, PG, Etc. While Ad is still holding down the fort of the best player in the league we've gotten a stats of the vaunted college drafts and we are now seeing the takeover. I'll go through each position and name players that are now the stars of their position from the College drafts. These are guys who've made it and there's no question about their contributions in our league.
Center:
-Ben Simmons | 76ers
-Vernon Desantis | Bulls
-Eckbert Winkler | Pelicans
On the Verge:
-Timothy Pulley | Bucks
-Erik Haynes | Kings
Review: Simmons and Desnatis bring a ton of skills to the center position nevcer seen before. Passing /rebounding/ scoring/ Blocks and have both seen the finals. Winkley/Pulley/ Haynes bring a little more traditional skillset to this position and are all great unconditional pieces on young teams.
Power Forward:
-Buddy Pedroza | Nets
-Joseph Kight | Jazz
-Dirk Hardpeck | Cavs
-Damion McNary | Pelicans
On the Verge:
-Aaron Donald | Hawks
-Kristaps Porzingis | Raptors
Review: Hardpeck may be the most underrated player in PBSL history. Employed by a mostly hermit GM on a bad team you never hear about him. Pedroza is a guy who reminds you of RL Tim Duncan, just goes out, does his business and plays the game right. He, at this point, may have had the best careers as a College draft player we've seen and is pretty close to fortifying his way in the sim league HOF. Kight and McNary have been leads for their teams and have taken very different paths.
Donald and Zingis are starting to put up frightening stats but havcen't quite made it big time.
Small Forward:
-Van Grimaldi | 76ers
-Jayson Tatum | Hawks
-Lavar Ball | Bucks
-James Gebhart | Jazz
-Gustave Lecroix | Lakers
On the Verge:
-Jaylen Brown | Celtics
Review: What a set of skills on these guys. If not for Ball's suspension in college he would have been in the same (original) draft class as Grimaldi and LeCroix. Tatum has finally grown up and gone to the Hawks for free, as all betas do (Kidding wig #stillsalty) . LeCroix is finally rounding out into that #1 overall pick, but i dont think he will ever outlive being drafted above Duren.
Jaylen Brown is on the verge but i dont think he will ever make it there. He';s on a team full of young guys with potential and will never get his shot with them, and im not sure he has the skillset to do so.
Shooting Guard:
1. Tyler Ullis | Celtics
2. Daniel Randle | Hakws
3. Markelle Fultz | 76ers
4.Buddy Hield | Pelicans
On the Verge:
-DeSean Hawkins | Magic
-Damion Williams | Lakers
Review: These guys are making the PBSL think about renaming the position from shooting guard to scoring guard. All of these guys can score the ball in many different ways. In therms of being complete players, it's a mixed bag. Fultz, Hield and Randle are all pretty great on the defensive end, while Ullis, Hawkins are scoring dynamos.
Point Guard:
-Jeff Duren | Kings
-Hardland Ellinger | Hawks
-F. Cole Medina | Nets
On the Verge:
-Joffrey Baratheon | Raptors
-Dennis Smith, Jr | Bulls
-Stephen Keitt | Pistons
-Keith Pfeffer | Wolves
Review: What a deep position. After years with a dearth of talent, the college sim Gawds delived upon us Jeff Duren, Harland Ellinger and Medina. Medina is the purest of the PGs but Ellinger is just as good of a passer with a little more scoring potential. The problem with Ell is hes a awful defender while Medina is good there. I just wish we could cobine the two and add an inch or two. That's be the perfect PG. Let me introduce you to Jeff Duren. The jewel of the Kings eye, Duren has lead the team to the finals and has gotten better almost every year. No telling if last year was his peak or not, but due to the ascent, a little decline would still mean all league. Kiett and Baratheon have the tlaent levels to rise up to the 'made it' section very soon, while Pfeffer and Smith will probably always be 3rd best players on a championship level team.
