#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

Darth enters the media room in a rather delightful manner. Smile on his face, joking with a reporter or two along the way.

Darth: Thank you all for coming this evening. I'm not going to keep much of your time today. There isn't much to say or explain these days. We as an organization are putting this team on track to contend in 3-5 years. Sure you may look at that prediction and say it's a bit out of reach but one thing I can say is that once we have acquired 3 years of assets, I can flip those assets quicker than LeBron James' momma...quicker than Matt Barnes' ex-wife...quicker than Brent Barry's ex-wife...quicker than Willie Roaf wife...point being that I can flip shit quickly.

Yeah, we got into a bit of luxury tax trouble, but we know how we got here. We made many VERY calculated moves, 90% of which said moves were in our control. The 10% did not go our way and here we are. I do not regret those moves. If the 10% plays out, I'm confident that we're sitting here today with 1 or 2 titles and then this tax bill wouldn't seem so bad. But it didn't and that's the way it goes sometimes. When you takes risks sometimes they bite you in the ass. I'm fine with that and don't plan on ever changing the way I manage a team. I don't like to lose, so don't expect us to be a losing team and be fine with it like so many other teams have been over the course of the last few decades.

But the expectation is a title when I bring this team back to prominence and I may build the team chemistry wise a bit diifferently this time around but expect the same all-in style and approach. That's all I have for now. I'll take any questions anyone may have.

How jealous were you watching the Grizzlies do work during the draft?

GWR: What one thing happening in PBSL today do you consider most harmful to the league?

With your rebuild, are you going to be any more judicious with your tax spending, or will you continue the all in strategy to win at any cost?

Would you ever consider pulling a Louie in conjunction with Louie and hold the draft hostage via delay?

Not at all. They were in a position to make those moves. You could say that they care much more than we do. We haven't done much to get points the last few seasons. You can tell that the Grizzlies are hustling for points. Good for them

No I will not be more judicious to put it lightly. The plan I devised was a masterful one, it just didn't work. Would I maybe sell one year earlier...yeah maybe so. Most of this bill came from only one year. But we were hardheaded and pushed thru. So maybe we think a bit harder next time but as far win at any cost...that's always the plan.

Oh man...where to start......

1) Southwest Division....why is this a division still? Let's relegate the entire division and condense the talent. It's not like the talent in that division is being used anyway.

2) The new wave of OP players. Anthony Davis...Andrew Wiggins...Kevin Love(STILL)...There's been one of these OPs in the Finals 4 out of the last 5 years.

3) The Process...Although there are multiple reasons for teams tanking for 5+ years at a time, among them being that they have the competitive spirit of a Kevin Durant, I think the main culprit is the rawness of the rookies. The rookies coming out are so raw that it leaves teams with little options especially if said teams aren't risk takers.

I could go on....really I could...but these are the top these that come to mind. Thanks for the question!

Yes, I would definitely consider it. Not sure if I could pull off the full LoCoesqueness of the move as he did but I think I could try.

When you have finally paid off the tax, will you attempt to go all in again? Not quite the extent that got you in the luxury tax hell from before, but we all know you don’t tank. If you rebuild, it doesn’t last longer than what, two seasons at the max? What can we expect?

So I now have my own picks, so while it may take me two more seasons to pay off my tax, I'll at least be acquiring solid draft picks in the mean time. Problem is I won't get a top pick because you can look at my team and say I should have one of the worst teams out there...but records say I don't. It's cause I have ethics. I may never get another top 3 pick again with the morality or should I say lack thereof in this league. But I will do my best as always and feel good about it at the end of the day knowing I didn't sell my soul.

If you were Lord Darth and had control over the entire league with hirings and firing of GMs, which GMs would be gone or on the hot seat?

Judging by your feelings about the rawness of these college players. And a quick timeline you've given yourself to "flip shit quickly" how important will the scouting department be, it seems even the talented players the college system produces have weaknesses and presumably without points to train those weaknesses what will the plan be?
