76ers Presser

Usual pressers are down to business. It has a podium, players and championship trophies. This year is different. The press walk in and see just a TV and some At Equipment. As always things dont work right the first time but the designated A/V person (Anyone i under 50 that works in the org... we’ve all been that guy) gets it working and is doing a remote presser. Balls O’Hard is sitting down wearing a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and flip flops.
Live from Greece.
Balls O’Hard: Welcome from Crete Greece! I know everyone expects me to be crabby after our first round loss to the Nets, but life is good and we really are thankful we lost to such a great opponent in the Nets, and were sorry to see them fall to injuries in the playoffs.
Balls O’Hard: Last season didn’t end the way we wanted but the new season started off right. We added a guy, Nasir Little, to our squad who we think will fit right in and shows the abilities to what it is to be a 76ers. In something started by Gordon Hayward, we like guys who can play many roles. Little can shoot, pass, defend and is a really solid athlete. He will have to earn his spot, like everyone in our org, but we are confident that he will.
Balls O’Hard:Outside of Little, little has changed in Philly. Simmons, Fultz and Grim will be leading the pack with Ayton, Durbin, and Mero taking bigger roles than last year. the biggest thing is, with TC we think our big 3 are going to get better and we have the supporting staff can help them get there. We have tremendous respect for the East and all fo our opponents and we wish them well in the upcoming season. With That i will will open the floor to question.

What is it that you've enjoyed most from your time in Greece?

A few seasons ago, the team seemed to be waiting until Simmons, Fultz and Grim were developed. They look ready, but now the new young guys Ayton and Little need time to develop. How do you plan on balancing this gap during the upcoming 5+ seasons?

Do you think Grimaldi can build on last years all star selection and become an all league player this year?

Do you believe that the 76ers are talented enough to keep up in what is an increasingly competitive Atlantic Division?

How much of Nasir Little will we be seeing in your rotation during the regular season?

Boyd Cox has kind of been a glue guy for you. Do you think he'll continue to play that role this even though the young studs are developing so well? Do you want to bring him back next year?

The sea, very underrated and people can’t understand it in US. It like the ocean but much calmer and not much sand it’s kind of the best of both worlds of a lake and the ocean !

I think it’s important during the life cycle of a player to lean on certain guys when the time is right. When we first got the Philly Cerberus , they couldn’t handle the load. Now they’re all guys with all league potential. Little has a little time to go before he can be relied on, but we think Ayton is ready to play some major minutes for us. I think the gap can be filled with guys like mero, Cox, and Durbin.

I really do. There’s so many great players out there and so many people deserving of the honor. It’s not like the gap between Davis and the rest of the league. I remember when we took Grim, we were in talks for trading out pick to get him the GM eventually declined and said “good luck with Van Grimaldi “ in a very mocking tone. We’re here to say thank you.. he’s been great!

Yes I do. Do I think we will win it every year for 10 years ? No, like you said, it’s competitive , but I don’t see any other team more talented than us. From 1-5 and we’re not handing over the crown.

My guess is none unless we sustain some serious injuries !

I think we’re going to figure it out. I’d say he’s probably a starter or first off the bench for us type of guy. We definitely appreciate him and his contributions but with the depth we have , were also in a position where we don’t have to overpay or undersell. I wouldn’t bet on him being on the team next year but he has a lot to play for being a contract year.

The Atlantic as a whole was very active during this offseason, with the notable exception of yourselves. Does this signal a level of trust in the team you've created, as well as send a subtle message to the rest of the division that the king does not need to act as those vying for his crown?

Thank you for the question. Yeah i think you saw us moderately active in the draft to get to Little because the fit was there and thats the approach we’ve taken with acquisitions in general. We’ve been blessed with 3 incredible talents and really having to put complimentary talent around them. So when we get the opportunity, we’ll try, but we also know we don’t “have to” make a move.
In terms of a king and crown, we really know the champions only have the right to say that. We look as it of doing our homework and studying before the test, and we’re not part of the mad scramble to cram right before the test!

Their are rumors going around saying that Sixers Training Camp was held in Greece. People saying they spotted Simmons, Fultz, Grim and company about and about in the area. If this is true did you do this as a team building thing?
