San Antonio Spurs 2020 Preseason Presser

I would like to welcome everyone to the San Antonio Spurs preseason press conference. First off I would like to thank the fans for showing up to all of those games last season even though it was only a 20 win season. Last season was disappointing but we are in full rebuild mode. Trading away Paul George for younger pieces solidified the rebuild. We loved having George here. He was clearly the best player on our team but we know he was looking to win another title at this point in his career and our organization is going in a different direction. We will get back to the top eventually but right now we are going to work with our young guys and prepare them to know what it takes to contend for a title.

We love how Training Camp treated our roster overall. We are moving in the right direction and Beau is showing us that he is willing to work hard to eventually become the best PG in the league. We still have some holes that need to be filled and we will address that in due time. Our young guys are excited about playing this season and can't wait to get on the court. We are going to try a bunch of different lineups this season and see how things go and go with what works. I am kinda excited about the young guys we have here too. This is probably the youngest team overall I had in a while. So we ask you the fans for your patience again and we will get back to the top of the mountain.

Now I met my two paragraph minimum and talked about what need to be talked about.....my 20 win team (the Main Idea), I 'll leave the floor for you guys to ask questions and answer them to the best of my ability.

Pararagh - a distinct section of a piece of writing, usually dealing with a single theme and indicated by a new line, indentation, or numbering. Length and appearance do not determine whether a section in a paper is a paragraph. A plain paragraph has four to six sentences.

You've got a promising start- how long do you expect this rebuild to take? I'll take one paragraph for an answer.

Is Beau considered the answer for San Antonio at PG for the future? He has a unique skillset but his potentials in passing and perimeter defense leave a lot to be desired, but his athleticism, scoring ability and his personality of being a tenacious rebounder also sets him apart from other PGs.

Mitch Landrieu, nola.com: Do you feel you deserve 5 points for just 15 sentences?

Great Question.

I think we may have a 2-3 more seasons counting this season. We are waiting on the the development of these young guys. Especially If there aren't any setbacks like injuries or TC fails. We want them to understand it takes time and effort to become a great team. We have shown them video of how hard players like, Westbrook, Josh Smith, Ray Allen and Big Dog worked to become great players and teammates. I think these guys understand what we expect of them. They know they aren't ready just yet but know that we expect them be ready in a few season. This rebuild wont be like the ongoing Bucks 12 season rebuild.

He will be our answer right now. We want him to put in work to improve his defense and become a better passer. He has time even at the age 21 to get better in those areas and it shows that he want to be the answer for our franchise at pg with the TC he had going from green potential to blue. We are going to continue to work with him so he can be a better all around point guard.

What was the thought process behind bringing in Vucevic? Does he have a place on your team, or is he temporary trade bait, much like Paul George was?

Hi Mitch, I think I should get 5 points for 15 sentences but we will see what will happen as far as this situation. If the point total is less than 5 I'll run next season for the position. starting my campaign soon after.

I have a question for you Mitch......Do you think you did a great job of being Mayor of NOLA?

It can go either way but as of now he's a day 60 guy. I am sure there are some teams out their that can use his services and he understands this is a rebuild situation. his contract isn't too bad and he's on a team option. To answer your question he is right now definitely temporary whether he's traded away or declined option. If anything change we will let him and his agent know.

Are there any players aside from Newman, Tua, Aguilar, and Agustin that you see as pieces of the Spurs' future?

Arron Magness.

This guy has been great since we acquired him last season don't let that yella/yella fool you. He has been a really good addition to the team and I expect him to have another great season. he went from averaging 13 ppg in 2018 to averaging 20 ppg last season. He as of now is apart of the spurs future.

I appreciate you posting this. As you can tell from the last year's presser, you didn't meet those guidelines. Thank you for meeting the requirements this time.
