I'd like to nominate Grizzlies GM Loco89 for GM of the year. If you were to ask me who's done more with less, it has to be him. Despite being in salary cap hell, he's fielded a much more competitive team than anyone could have predicted.

I'd like to nominate a darkhorse for GMOY... the syndicate.

Sitting on top of the quite competitive Northwest Division, the Nuggets reign supreme and are in the driver seat to #2 seed. They have the 5th best record in the league with 9 games to go. Heading into the season, the nuggets teetered with the idea of rebuilding, as they had James McCormick, RFA rights to Chet Dooley and Buddy Heild... all they needed to do was ship out Jrue Holiday........... but that isn't Ryan/syndicate's style. He prefers to bet on himself, and anyone that knows him knows he likes to bet. He went out and capitalized on Nick's premature rebuild attempt (pre-Kyrie signing) by swiping Blake Griffin. He drafted Aaron Donald (no relation to NFL Aaron Donald), and re-signed Chet Dooley. Then TC happened and sent the Nuggets blasting off like Team Rocket. Dooley went HAM, McCormick put on some big boy pants. His team got ready to make a run. No one expected them to edge out their divisional rival, the reigning Western Conference Champion Timberwolves, this season, but here they are sitting 4 games up on the Blazers and 8.5 ahead of the Wolves.

Mid season, they cashed in on Aaron Donald's youth and acquired a veteran Center in Greg Oden, allowing them to move Jose Jumper (Ho-zay Humper? Joe-zee Jumper? I'm not sure) to the bench where he belonged.

The Nuggets have done a fantastic job this season, and deserve your consideration/vote for GMOY. They've earned it.

I would like to nominate Ballsohard of the 76ers, because we're finally getting to see what his rebuild was all about after these past few seasons. During the offseason, he didn't have to do much because his plan all along was to let his team grow into their own, but regardless he re-signed Enes Kanter to a 5-year contract and added Clint Capela to help grab some offensive boards and play defense. Now his team is sitting on a 52-22 record and it's all because of his efforts. How can he not be nominated?

I would Like to Nominate Rockets GM 78 for GMOY. Going into this season Taxman limited his role in RFA and UFA. Going into this season the only impact guys he had were an Aging Horford and Ty Lawson. He couldn't resign Thaddeus Young cause of the Tax. I don't think anyone expected him to be in the position he's in right now. I thought he would be fighting for Lotto positioning not a Division title and a 50 win season. He has done a lot with nothing. Nothing but a bunch of yella/yella players playing key roles for his team. Herbert Burgos and Cory Joseph aren't household names but those yellas play a huge part in the Rockets Success this year. The Rockets are a half game out of the 3rd spot. 78 could've gave up at the beginning of this season but he didn't and now he's reaping the rewards. He didn't sign the sexy players but signed players that fit what he's doing this season on 1 year vet mins. Dudes done a lot with little and it not like he has a OP to help carry the team on his back. When you vote for GMOY look at 78's body of work and what he had to do to get to where he and his Rockets are at right now. If anyone deserves to be GMOY it's him. Plus he prolly can use the points to help with paying his bill LOL.

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring here for GMOY.

Coming off a 31 win season, the Chicago Bulls entered the 2019 season with roughly the same roster. With very little cap space to play with, the Bulls front office was forced with a tough decision...match a max offer to Phil Millburn or let him walk for nothing to avoid going into the tax before the team was ready to compete. It was a fairly easy decision to be responsible with their finances. Using the MLE and limited resources, the Bulls were able to trade their 10th pick to the Heat for Keith Pfeffer, who looks to have a higher ceiling than initially predicted, and they used their MLE to sign back a longtime Bull in Danilo Gallinari.

While the Bulls were still looking towards the future, making long term investments in Dennis Smith, Jr. and Vernon Desantis in training camp, they began the first half of the season scratching to make it back into the playoffs. At 24-21, and with DSJ and Desantis as their two most productive players, the front office decided that it was either time to hand over the reins to the young core, or combine assets to get a veteran player who could truly lead the team. Thus, TJ Warren and Victor Oladipo were packaged together for Russell Westbrook. Ever since, the Bulls have gone 29-8 and surged to a comfortable 5th spot and a position of serious contention in a strong Eastern Conference.

The Bulls would continue to cash in future pieces to solidify this build, dealing promising but little used prospect Charles Simmons and three-point specialist Doug McDermott to the Kings for swiss-army-knife Michael Carter Williams. They also sent dumpable salary to the Hawks for DeMar DeRozan, who has fit himself seamlessly into the Bulls offensive scheme.

Only a couple teams improved more since last season, and of those teams, the Bulls finished with the best record, largely in part to the actions and decisions of their General Manager, Garbageman
