Good evening, everyone. And welcome to a new year. And you know how the saying goes... New Year, New Me. I don't need to tell you that last year was painful. We shipped out the entirety of our "old guard" and decided to make Damion McNary the face of our next generation. 22 wins later, that miserable season came to an end. We ended with quite a few new faces, including former #2 overall pick from the 2017 NBA Draft: Desean Hawkins. With McNary, Hawkins, and young vet Elfrid Payton, solid core and were looking to a Top 7 pick in the draft. Little did we know that the Sim Gawds shined their light favorably on us that day. We jumped in the draft lotto to #2 overall, where we were truly honored and blessed to select stud shooting guard prospect out of San Jose State, Donovan Mitchell. We managed to swing back into the draft to grab 2 other prospects that we liked: Chad Royster and Paul O'Neil. We ended our draft there with 3 players who we liked and had targeted all along; couldn't have been happier.
But our busy off-season didn't stop there. We were faced with restricted free agency, where we decided to accept the rights (and inevitably match a deal) for our cornerstone. McNary was going no where. We rolled the dice with Aubrey Broomfield though, deciding to let him test UFA before coming to a deal with him. However, prior to re-signing with us, we managed to bring in some veteran experience to help lead our young players. Enter: Iman Shumpert. He's been a leader on many winning teams: the Cavs, the Kings, and the Pacers. And we respect the heck outta those franchises and know they know talent. We wanted Iman to come in and help establish the importance on the defensive end of the court. It needs to be an identity and a way of life on the court. We can't wait to see how he rubs off on the youth in our lockerroom during the season. Especially if his impact on the locker room during training camp was any indication.
Training camp this year was one of the most phenomenal camps we have held in franchise history. Our new additions came in ready to make an impact, our young vets stepped up as leaders, and a few surprises emerged from unexpected places. Alvin Pack (a player we expected nothing out of outside of a camp body) came out and pretty much emerged as the top candidate for our 3rd guard, especially as Donovan continues to learn the system and grow into his NBA role. Paul O'Neil and Chad Royster both came out hungry and made sure to let the league know they missed out on a couple studs. We are very excited about our future.
This season is wide open for us; we didn't expect to go back into the playoff race this quickly, but we feel like our team has really grown into a good spot and may be ready to push for a playoff return.
Any questions?

GWR: McNary had a fantastic boost in training camp. What do you expect from him production wise this season?

It looks like your core 3 is McNary, Mitchell and Hawkins. Do you think this is who the Bucks will build around for the next 5 seasons, or do you think you could use an upgrade over one of those players?

At this point, we will have to tinker with our big man rotation, but our opening day starting lineup will look like this:
C: McRoberts
PF: McNary
SF: Hawkins
SG: Shumpert
PG: Payton
Obviously this could change if we see somethings in pre-season that we like.

Some may laugh, but I think he could be a frontrunner for MIP. We expect that he will leading this team in scoring, as well as blocks. We are excited to see his hard work pay off on gameday.

Your Bucks had a great Camp. Did you bring in a celebrity trainer? Rumors are you brought in Jay Glazer to workout with the team, is that true? With you recent history of a ongoing rebuild will you trade away all of your assets again to start another rebuild and what are your thoughts about your former player Kyrie Irving leaving Charlotte and joining the old Charlotte team who are now the Pelicans in NOLA?

We brought in Khloe Kardashian, host of REVENGE BODY, to help get our guys motivated.
We are not going to trade away all of our assets to restart our newly restarted restart. That would be preposterous!
Kyrie Irving was a non-committal little biatch whose ego is the size of a large flat earth. We were afraid if we kept him he would pull the same shenanigans on us that he did to the fanbase in Charlotte. I feel for that organization, and that group of fans. They were forced to endure at least 10+ years of being teased by Nick Malone, only for Nick Malone to pull the sheets over their head once again from afar. I wouldn't be surprised if there were signs with his face plastered all over Charlotte saying "DO NOT SERVE THIS MAN".

If you are able to make the playoffs, it would be quite the turnaround...5 years straight in the playoffs miss them for 1 season and back. What all went into such a quick turnaround, or is making the playoffs not as big a priority with the East being so tough.

We would love to make a playoff return, but we also want to exercise a little more patience than our last rebuild attempt where we sent out a more raw prospect (Otto Porter) for a more ready now prospect (Draymond Green). We repeated that cycle moving Draymond Green for Rudy Gay. We expedited our rebuild, and in the end lost a little bit of our cap flexibility.
As for the quick turnaround, I like to think that we started this rebuild while still competing; getting McNary for Kanter was the first step. We had a young, semi-raw prospect to be groomed while we still competed. Then we went all in with that team, and subsequently went all-in on the firesale. We picked up some "older" rookie deal guys and an RFA like Elfrid Payton who was just about to hit his prime. So when it came to the team not competing anymore, we still had a bit of a core in place for when we were ready to make the leap. But it wasn't all just skill or maneuvering assets... a lot of it was luck. Hopefully we can bottle that luck up and keep some for the upcoming years too.

Will you have a tribute video to welcome back Enes Kanter when Philly comes to town?

Random Reporter: What's the deal with Aubrey Broomfield? From being deadline day trade bait last season, to having his RFA rights declined, to inking a 4-year, 51 million-dollar contract, his time in Milwaukee's proven to be a crazy one so far.

We absolutely love these 3 guys as our "big 3". We really do see this team growing with them. We want to try patience and let this grow organically. However, as we saw this past off-season, sometimes big name superstars hit the open (free agent or trade) market, and you need to keep your eyes and ears open.
Hahhahaaha. Do you even believe yourself here?
