Welcome everyone to the Miami Heat Preseason Press Conference.
Let's take a look back at last season. We planned on a rebuild season. We tried maximizing our assets and ended up with two lottery picks. Upon the development of the draft, we decided to maximize our assets for the future. We ended up with multiple picks and got Chris Paul. From there we traded our late round draft pick to the Knicks for Rudy Gay. This immediately changed us from a rebuild team to a team trying to contend.
In UFA, we hoped to get Greg Monroe to come back, but he was looking for a pay day and hope the best for him. We decided to bring back our other Greg (Oden) and have another key piece to our puzzle. With Oden dominating the boards and Paul passing all over the court, Gay will be allowed to score as much as he can. Our lineup will look as follows:
C - Greg Oden
PF - Gary Perez
SF - Rudy Gay
SG - Keith Pfeffer
PG - Chris Paul
We hope that we can make the playoffs and sneak out a series win or two. With that I will open the floor to questions.
