Alright, Alright, Alright. Settle down. We have a lot to cover. First of all, the reports that came out this morning are indeed true. I intended to step down as part of the regime change, but it seems that I JUST CANT QUIT YOU.Image

Last season was miserable, we took a voluntary step back by trading Hunter for tax relief to get under the cap in preparation for a spending spree in the next couple of seasons. Due to league rules, we were forced to make a signing in a playoff series we had no business being in due to an injury. So..um..things did not go as planned.

This year, thanks to our retained core, the free agent market certainly took note and several key pieces came to Denver that we really feel compliment our core. Kyle Singler joins former Nuggets Michael Beasley, Luol Deng, and Kendrick Perkins to create a formidable supporting cast to Darren Collison, Jrue Holiday, and Klay Thompson. We also drafted rookie James McCormick with our 1st round pick, and we're really excited about the kind of player he can become. if nothing else, we have the makings of the next generation of Denver Nuggets in the form of him and Buddy Hield.

First things first, we're going to run, and we're going to shoot an avalanche of 3 pointers. Some nights, we'll certainly shoot ourselves out of games, but instead of trying to compliment our deficiency of getting to the free throw line, we're embracing it. Basically, if you can't go through the wall, go around it. If that doesn't work, we'll re-evaluate and possible once again pursue an avenue to get under the tax threshold, but we feel our team is as good as any other in the conference and we like our chances in 7 games against anyone in the west.

I'll now respond to your questions...

With the intention of shooting non stop from the 3 point line, will your post players be more of a rebound focus, or will you use some of your players with better inside scoring to complement the 3 point barrage?

GWR: Do you have a system in place to prevent these Favrian impulses from causing a distraction to the league?

We'll do a little of both. I can also imagine small-ball lineups with Beasley at the 5. This team has a lot of flexibility and will be fun to play with.

I do not. At the end of the day, if there had been other GM resume submissions to this job, I may not be here. But luckily there weren't, and I am! I wasn't under the impression it was a huge distraction as the league certainly has bigger things to care about, but if there's some widespread concern, I'd happy to speak to anyone.

If your team is competitive enough this year in an open Western Conference, do you forego getting under the tax, or is that still a top priority?

If we're competitive enough, we'll focus on improving, yes. That's why we haven't pulled the trigger yet on a move to reduce our burden. That could definitely be in the future, though, if we fall out of it early.

Do you plan on training Jose Jumper so he can live up to his last name?

Given my history, I think it's best I keep my points...

That being said, I like that you brought up Jose, because he's definitely going to play some minutes for us this year. We think he can really add some scoring punch on our second unit. With his athleticism, Offensive Rebounding, and Inside game, he should get a ton of put-backs.
