Revising Athletics Ratings

For quite some time Athletic ratings have been one of the biggest sets of ratings boosted by GMs. And why wouldn’t they be? They’re innate, meaning they effect every play on every minute they’re in. Frankly rating for rating they’re the most potent increases you can make for a player, both for the present and the future.

With the introduction of the college sim, we’ve seen a lot of guys with intriguing skill sets out but sometimes leaving a lot to be desired in the athleticism department for their position. From 40 quickness pgs , 35 str centers to everyone having terrible Stamina.

I think the college sim has brought a lot of fun to the league but it calls for some changes that we need to make.

I would like to bring up a discussion on changing athletic ratings.

I had two ideas:

1. Keep current cost system, but ratings will have certain dividers percentage multipliers for their college position

The thought behind this is we say as an example (not fleshed out at all):

PGs
.75 QKN
1.25 STR
1. JMP

SG
.85 QKN
1.15 STR
1 JMP

SF
1.15 QKN
1 STR
.9 JMP

ETC


2. Keep current cost system, but ratings will have certain dividers (opposite of multipliers) for size. (I like the first one better)


Same as above...



The other idea was for STA

Players in our league with 30-40 sta are pretty dumn to have.

I think we should have a way top get their STA increase to 75.
Maybe we increase this in tiers
<50 10 points to increase to 75
>=50 8 points to increase to 75

For clarification, option two for size would be something along the lines of

5'11 and under
.75 qkn
1.25 str
1.0 jmp

6'0-6'2
etc

I think you just did. But it's not really polished enough in its current form to bring up for a vote.

Also, my latest batch of suggestions have been mostly about streamlining and simplifying.

Also also, I want to run some test sims where I only vary stamina and see what happens. Still not 100% sure how important stamina is (will report on this later).
