Insurance Point Deduction

As I was straightening out the Pistons team bank, I wanted to make sure it was as accurate as possible so I checked to see if all team obligations were paid such as insurance and luxury tax. Luxury tax was fine, but only because the "league office" had to take over and pay the bill. One thing I did notice was that several seasons of training camp insurance were not deducted from the bank, but was given to the Pistons during those years.

If I am remembering right, at least 3 seasons for a total of 70-ish points were not deducted in total by GM runningback at that time. Insurance rules state that the points must be deducted before training camp deadline in order for the insurance to take affect. I haven't gone to any other team's banks, but I seriously wonder what checks we have when granting insurance.

It's sort of unfair for those who do pay for insurance and for the teams that don't pay insurance for their players because they don't have the points to spend. Should we have a check process for this? I don't think any teams are doing this on purpose, but keeping track of our points isn't the most fun aspect of this game and I worry that if the Pistons were able to do this for at least 3 seasons in a row, some teams are forgetting to pay for insurance and screwing the teams that make the hard decisions to insure or not and actually pay.

Thoughts? Or am I being too overly concerned?

Should the insurance request link back to the bank with the deductions? I do this for the luxury tax. Could be a good way to keep track.

I agree though. That's not fair.

I really like this idea, and I think we should all be doing that for both luxury tax like you do and for insurance.

It sucks that we have to put another layer of checks and balances because people lack integrity enough to do what they say they are doing.

I agree though. Maybe a link is required. No link = no insurance. No exceptions. Have to hardline it, wig or anyone else shouldnt have to worry about double checking banks to make sure its paid by deadline. Or perhaps we create a new volunteer responsibility for tracking this

So as an example using the Pistons, in Season 24 GM runningback posted up his training camp under the thread and marked Anthony Davis and Bradley Beal as insured.

The date of the post of the training camp was March 15th, 2017.

In the Pistons' team bank, there was NO POSTS from June 2016 through May 2017, nearly a whole year of no record keeping. No insurance was deducted.

Go back to the training camp thread posted in the first link and check Anthony Davis, who was hit in training camp but was saved due to insurance.

It only takes an extra 10 seconds to add a link. Easy solution to an unfortunate problem. Solid idea.
