Sim League vs Real Life: Biggest Differences

Here in sim league, we try and model our league after the real NBA. The draft classes are set so that the players' ratings translate to their real life talent. But with the monster of TC and our own trainings, we sometimes see players who are way different than their real life counterparts. We're closing out the regular season of 2015-2016 in Sim League while the 2016-2017 season just finished in real life. That seems close enough that we can judge players now. Please note: this is what players CURRENTLY are in sim league vs what they CURRENTLY are in the NBA. So with that, here are our 2 lists of Top 10 Differences:
Honorable Mention:
Chris Bosh
IRL: Out of the league due to a freak medical condition
Sim: Scoring almost 25 a game
Anthony Morrow
IRL: Barely in the league
Sim: Scored 17 a game for the NBA champions last season
Greg Oden
IRL: Barely ever saw the court due to injuries
Sim: Well he doesn't see the court as much as he should due to injuries. But when he plays, he's a rebounding force on the best team in the league.
Marcus Thronton
IRL: Journeyman bench shooter
Sim: 18 PPG starter
Brandon Jennings
IRL: Fallen out of favor and just trying to find a place to stick
Sim: Averaging 19 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals
Ish Smith
IRL: Underrated solid backup point guard
Sim: Overpaid point guard but averages 7 assists and 2 steals
Rajon Rondo
IRL: Has-been point guard now known for his baggage
Sim: Averaging a double-double with a PER of 20
Timofey Mozgov
IRL: one of the most overpaid players in the league
Sim: one of the most overpaid players in the league, but still a defensive and rebounding force
Carlos Boozer
IRL: Not in the NBA
Sim: I bet the Blazers wish he weren't in the NBA. But if you ignore his contract, he's still a really good 20/10 guy.
Andris Biedrins
IRL: Been out of the league for 3 years and probably should've been about 2 seasons earlier
Sim: 10 PPG/10 RPG starting center
Omer Asik
IRL: Hot flaming pile of 60 million dollar garbage
Sim: Still a starting caliber defensive center
Darren Collison
IRL: Solid backup/fringe starting PG
Sim: Top 10 point guard averaging 18 points, 10 assists, 2.5 steals
Tyson Chandler
IRL: Contract albatross for the Suns
Sim: Contract albatross for the Thunder, but still an elite defender
TOP TEN:
10) Roy Hibbert
IRL: Been bouncing around for a few seasons after one great series against the Knicks got him massively overpaid by the Lakers. Hibbert's nearly irrelevant in real life now.
Sim: B/B starting center on a Clippers team that has championship aspirations this season. Hibbert's averaging 15 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2 blocks with a PER of 20.
9) Rudy Gay
IRL: Gay is coming off an achilles injury and signed for the MLE with the Spurs. He was highly regarded long ago with the Grizzlies, but has since come to be known as an overrated chucker whose production doesn't live up to his talent
Sim: P/P beast leading the Bucks with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2 steals, and a PER of 25.5
8) Al Jefferson
IRL: Old-school big that's been fazed out by the modern NBA. Jefferson started only one game for Indiana last season.
Sim: Jefferson averages 25 points 10.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks with a 26 PER. He was one of the 2 best players on a barren Cavs team last year that took the #1 seed Hawks to 7 games.
7) Spencer Hawes
IRL: Started one game last year playing for 2 teams while averaging 6 points and 3.5 boards
Sim: Prize of last year's free agency class. Hawes is one of the few centers that brings scoring in addition to elite defense and rebounding. Hawes is averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks with a PER of 22.
6) Joakim Noah
IRL: The worst contract in the NBA who can't even get on the court
Sim: A DPOY candidate. Noah's averaging 10.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks.
5) Josh Smith
IRL: Was such a bad player and locker room cancer that he was stretched with his massive contract by the Pistons a couple of seasons ago. Smith didn't play last season.
Sim: Smith is one of the top 5-10 players in sim league right now. He's a DPOY candidate who's also an elite scorer averaging 26 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 2.5 blocks for a 27 PER.
4) Kevin Love
IRL: Good player who's been the #3 option on the Cavs
Sim: OH MY GOSH HAVE YOU SEEN HIS FREAKING RATINGS
3) Derrick Rose
IRL: Just signed for a minimum contract with the Cavs
Sim: Maybe the best point guard in the league averaging almost 30 points and 10 assists
2) Steven Hunter
IRL: Hasn't played in the NBA for 7 years
Sim: Starting center for the Pacific-leading Suns. Hunter's averaging 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks a game.
1) Deron Williams
IRL: Just had maybe the worst Finals performance by any player ever
Sim: MVP candidate leading the Pacers to the best record in Sim League while averaging 28 points and 10 assists

10) Andre Roberson
IRL: Lockdown defender who just signed a sizeable contract to return to the Thunder
Sim: Orange current player who can't get any minutes cause he's just trash at the moment without much potential
9) Evan Fournier
IRL: Solid scorer with some ability to create
Sim: Orange current player who again can't get minutes cause he sucks
8) Jeff Teague
IRL: Average-Above Average point guard who just got a nice contract from the Timberwolves
Sim: Backup point guard averaging 6.5 points and 3 assists
7) Nicolas Batum
IRL: Do-it-all wing that signed a 90 million dollar contract a couple of seasons ago
Sim: 14 minutes, 5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2 assists
6) Jimmy Butler
IRL: A lockdown wing who can compete for All NBA teams
Sim: A guy who's potentials read like an athlete's report card: C C C C C C C C C C. Butler's averaging under 20 a game.
5) DeMar DeRozan
IRL: 27 PPG scorer who doesn't give you much else
Sim: 17 PPG scorer who doesn't give you anything else
4) Jae Crowder
IRL: one of the most valuable trade chips in the NBA. Crowder's a guy who is a prototypical 3 & D wing.
Sim: Isn't even getting consistent minutes
3) Eric Bledsoe
IRL: A guy so good at offense and defense that he's being floated around as an ideal replacement for Kyrie Irving for the Cavs
Sim: He plays for the Charlotte Bobcats
2) DeMarcus Cousins
IRL: Top 15-20 player and one of the 2-3 best bigs in the NBA
Sim: 13.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG on a max contract
1) Kawhi Leonard
IRL: MVP candidate and best perimeter defender in the NBA
Sim: 18 PPG with ok defense
