Approval/Trends - Part 2

Post by 78# »

Hey guys. This part 2 for how much your owner likes you. Sorry for the delay. Had surgery yesterday to remove my gallbladder and was trying to take care of work things before then. Let's get started.

78# - Rockets: Approval - AVERAGE; Trend - UP

For years, this Rockets GM was on his owner's shitlist whether it was Lowell Ramos, then Jeramy Webb who bought the team in 2009, and then Bob Collins who bought the team in 2013. You have owners who go through many GMs, while this GM goes through many owners whether it's killing the team with out of control contracts, poor trades, and shaky game-planning. However, things finally looks up as the Rockets are coming off a 45 win season, their most since 2005, and their 5th playoff berth in 6 years. Plus, the current owner doesn't care about making money and his interest in winning is average. Perfect fit for 78.

Loco89 - Grizzlies: Approval - BAD; Trend - NONE

This GM was attached to Canada and Memphis, but was forced to settle full-time in Vancouver. Ownership is not happy at this time. Since buying the team in 2009, Zarcas Aristizabal has seen the Grizzlies miss the playoffs for 6 straight seasons right after two 50 win seasons. But that's the least of Loco's problems. This owner really cares about making money and the Grizzlies financial graph shows three straight profit losses over $10 million+. That alone has caused this rift in the front office.

Logmess - Heat: Approval - GOOD; Trend - NONE

The Heat have been very successful under this GM making the playoffs 8 out of the last 9 seasons including a Finals appearance and a recent Conference Finals. But while James Rios is ok with winning, he's really into making money as well and the Heat have made money every season including a whopping $84 million after moving into a spacious new arena with 2000 club seats and over 250 luxury suites. Add that to a winning club, any owner would be happy with his team.

Make it Rain - Thunder; Approval - POOR; Trend - NONE

New owner Eldon Young bought the team in 2013 and promised to keep the team in Seattle. However, after one season, he quickly moved the club to his hometown Oklahoma City in a fancy new arena. However, he's not really happy with his current GM. The team has had two straight losing seasons despite making the playoffs last season. The owner is very greedy and the team made $42 million last season so not exactly sure why the POOR approval rating except maybe the owner wants to win in front of his hometown fans at this point.

Messi2.0 - Suns: Approval - GOOD; Trend - NONE

When Dante Wilson bought the team in 2012, he had one goal which was to win. Making money was very low on his list though the Suns have profited since he took over. However, if winning is what the owner wants, he's getting it with his current GM who has one of the best players in the league and just took the team to a conference Finals after a 58 win season. Plus he has credibility from his 2009 championship. Look for this chummy relationship to continue for awhile.

NickMalone77 - Pelicans: Approval - BAD; Trend - NONE

When Fernando Bartiz bought the team in 2013, he didn't have high expectations to win or make money, but he wanted to make this organization more of a New Orleans team. He started by recently changing the team name to the Pelicans. However, despite his low expectations, he's not happy with the current direction of the team. The team has missed the playoffs the last 5 seasons including a 61 loss season in 2013. Unless things change soon quickly, this front office relationship could become beyond repair.

NO la - Kings: Approval - Average; Trend - DOWN

The Kings under this GM has been one of the most winningest franchises in sim league history including a championship in 2005. However, owner Bobby Rodriguez bought the team in 2010 with high expectations to win and he's seen three playoff teams including a Finals appearance just two seasons ago. Yet, the GM went in a new direction last season into a sudden rebuild causing the Kings to lose 59 games. The owner isn't happy and wants this rebuild to end soon or things could become dicey in this front office.

PaulyP - Pacers: Approval - Average; Trend - NONE

After a 6 year playoff drought from 2004 to 2009, the Pacers have made the playoffs the last 5 seasons. Owner Joshua Fields bought the team in 2000 with average expecations to win, but high expectations to make money which the Pacers have done averaging over $60 million of profits each season. So why the lukewarm approval rating? Possibly the lack of success in the playoffs. The Pacers have only made it past the first round since the millennium started. The owner isn't unhappy, but he's wanting more as well now from this team.

RealPelicansFans - Nets: Approval - POOR; Trend - DOWN

Owner James Goodwin wants to win and wants to win all the team. He bought the team in 2007 not wanting to make money though the Nets have been very profitable especially after the recent move to Brooklyn which drastically increased the TV revenue to well over a $100 million per season. However, the Nets have missed the playoffs badly the last two seasons after 7 consecutive playoff appearances including making it to the Conference Finals. The Nets need to win soon otherwise the front office situation will become toxic.

Soundwave - Raptors: Approval - AVERAGE; Trend - UP

New owner Oenues Stavros has become one of the most exciting figures in the league since buying the Raptors last year. He wants to make money, but he really wants to win more and the Raptors are doing both making over $102 million last year and reaching the conference Finals. After missing the playoffs 6 times out of 7 years from 2006-2012, but have made deep runs the last two years. If this continues, the GM will have security for many years.

The JNR - Timberwolves: Approval - GOOD; Trend - NONE

This GM is well-liked not only among other GMs, bought his own owner who bought the team in 2003 with very low expectations to make money and average expectations to win. Prior to missing the playoffs the last two seasons, the TWolves made the playoffs for 9 straight years and this has kept his relationship with his owner very good. If the team turns it around soon, look for this relationship to improve.

thesyndicate - Nuggets: Approval - AVERAGE; Trend - NONE

The Nuggets have been one of the most successful teams in the league since owner Joe Bradley bought the team in 2003. The Nuggets have made the playoffs in all but three seasons since then including two championships and two other conference Finals appearance. Yet the owner is also lukewarm in his approval with his current GM despite his desire to really win and low desire to make money. The GM is following his owner's doctrine since the Nuggets are not as profitable as most teams, in fact making only $21 million last season. Maybe the owner doesn't know what he wants.

TraywithanA - Lakers: Approval - BAD; Trend - DOWN;

Things have gotten ugly with this storied franchise since young owner Ramunas Cetkauskas bought the team in 2010. This owner took over with low expectations to win or make money and frankly it shows with the product on the floor. The Lakers are the most profitable team in the league averaging well over $150 million in profits thanks to a sweetheart TV deal and strong ticket sales, however this owner has become the most hated man in So Cal, and now he's directing his ire towards the GM who's missed the playoff the last 4 seasons with back to back 60 loss seasons. It's RECOMMENDED this GM do something fast or things may become hostile in downtown LA.

WigNosy - Hawks: Approval - GREAT; Trend - BUSINESS AS USUAL

The Hawks have been the winningest franchise in sim league history under this GM and his owner has plenty of reasons to love the guy. Since buying the team in 2003 with very low greed and high winning, the Hawks have won over 50 games in all but two seasons including one championship, 3 conference Finals, and one more League Finals. Also, the Hawks are now profiting over $100 million in this usual lukewarm sports town. Don't expect any tension anytime soon between this owner and GM. Get a room you guys

Xb Hitterx - Pistons: Approval - POOR; Trend - DOWN

Since owner Gerald Brooks bought the team in 2002 with high greed and very high winning, let's say he's been a little disappointed. He basically forced out long-time GM TraywithanA and brought in RB15 who only made the playoffs twice in 11 seasons. Now with GM XB hitter, the Pistons were 35-47 in his first season so the owner is still unhappy. Hopefully the team can build around Anthony Davis soon or otherwise things will become from poor to worse.

xist2inspire - Wizards: Approval - GOOD; Trend - UP

In 2013, owner William "Bill" Taylor bought the team with high greed and average winning. Well the Wizards have done both since then winning 50+ games in back to back seasons and profiting over $100 million each season. Generally regarded as the nicest GM in the league, X2 is getting plenty of love from his owner who's happy as long as the team makes money and wins in the regular season off and on.

This is the rest of the list. Interesting to see how this list will change after the season.
