Under their new GM, the Bulls have had a couple of their most successful seasons in history. While it's a bittersweet thing to brag about, last season saw them winning their first playoff series in PBSL history. Coming into 2015, the Bulls have kept their roster completely in tact, dealing cash to the expansion Bobcats to retain Jae Crowder and resigning point guard Ramon Sessions, who has been an integral part of the Bulls success. To bolster their defense at the guard spot, the Bulls dealt Nikola Mirotic and their 2015 first round pick to Houston for Patrick Beverley.

The Bulls pick ended up going late in the 1st round, but not to be deterred from finding a promising young talent, they were able to sign Charles Blow in the offseason after he fell to the 5th pick in the second round and was waived by the Sacramento Kings. We sat down with Charles so that the NBA fans could get to know him a little better.

Hello, Charles, and welcome to the Chicago Bulls!

Thank you. I'm really happy to have the opportunity to play in Chicago.

I hate to hit you right off the bat with the tough stuff, but you were projected to be a late first round pick. What were your thoughts when you slipped to the second round and got cut by the Sacramento Kings?

Honestly, it's not the best feeling in the world, but it's not something I wanted to dwell on either. You've got to keep looking forward and keep working, and that's what I plan to do in Chicago. I want to prove to the Bulls fans and the PBSL as a whole that I'm here to put in work. I know that as a rookie, I probably would have seen more time playing for a team like Sacramento than a competitor like the Bulls, but I think playing with experienced vets at my position like Paul Millsap and Taj Gibson is going to really help develop my game.

At Kansas, you're coming off a strong Junior Year where you put up 11 points and 9 boards a game. What are you working on in training camp to translate those skills to the PBSL?

Coach has me sticking to my strengths, so I'm focusing on rebounding, defense, and my inside game. I know that the level of competition here is a big step up from the college level, so a big part of what I'm working on is my conditioning...getting quicker and stronger. That's where I really need to make gains if I'm going to stack up against the bigs here.

Shifting gears, if you weren't in PBSL, what would you be doing?

At Kansas, I was majoring in Communications. My dad was always a big news junkie, so I saw a lot of local news growing up. I think I would make for a pretty decent anchor. Maybe after my PBSL career, I'd want to call the games, I don't know. Hopefully, I don't have to worry about that for a while, though.

You don't see too many 6'9 news anchors.

(Laughs) Yeah, I suppose I'd make my co-anchor look pretty small.

Anything else you can tell the Chicago fans to help them get to know you a little better?

I guess I'm just looking forward to spending more time in the city. I grew up near Kansas City, so it's not a huge adjustment to live in Chicago, but there is a lot more to do here. It should be really easy to bulk up here with all the deep dish. I think Missouri's still got you on BBQ--my mom cooks some of the best BBQ in Independence--but the team took me to some places that come close. Went to, I think it's called Lillie's?

Yeah. Lillie's Q. They've got some spots at the United Center

Good to know for halftime runs. They got some really good Tri-Tip.

Well, don't eat too much of it, or you might get a case of the halftime runs

(Laughs) For sure. For sure.

Anyways, Charles, it's been great talking with you, and we're really looking forward to seeing your career start off here with the Bulls!

Thank you very much, man. It's a great city, and I'm definitely going to be giving 110 percent to show the league I belong here.
