Having awoken from its year-long slumber, the liveblog notes it overslept its alarm and the draft is already off and running with many trades to be covered. The liveblog is not worried. The liveblog can catch up.

ACTION: The Suns sell off the #28 pick to the Pelicans for cash (points)

REACTION: Even the liveblog knows that first-round picks ought to go for 10 points. The liveblog thinks the difference between the Pelicans and Suns is just a "c" and an "e" - shrewd vs screwed.

ACTION: The Pelicans send Timofey Mozgov and the #28 to to the Magic in exchange for O.J. Mayo.

REACTION: At first the liveblog thought moving Mozgov's contract was a great move for the Pelicans. Then the liveblog noted Mozgov was an expiring and Mayo also makes $25 million this year. Mayo is an inefficient chucker who put up scoring numbers because he shot a lot. The liveblog is suddenly less enamored of the Pelicans' alleged shrewdness and thinks the Pels should have just saved their points for the luxury tax.

ACTION: The Lakers select SF Gustave Lecroix with the 1st pick.

REACTION: The liveblog can't understand the Lakers' fascination with Canadians. How did Steve Nash work out for ya, Lakers fans? If I'm a Lakers fan I'm worried that Lecroix probably can't take two dribbles without bouncing the ball off his foot. Lakers fans will say he'll catch-and-shoot but his jumpshot needs work too. No problem, Lakers fans, this is your third time in the top 3, and I'm sure you're looking forward to winning the lotto AGAIN next year, too!

ACTION: The Kings select SG Jeffrey Duren with the 2nd pick.

REACTION: If Duren were any more allergic to defense, he'd need to carry an epi-pen to every game. Maybe the Kings are hoping they can somehow combine Duren and Noel in a lab and go from having two players that each have no interest in one side of the ball to finish with a player that is a solid two-way player. Unfortunately, that option does not currently exist in the SLOE weight room.

ACTION: The Magic select Harland Ellinger with the 3rd pick.

REACTION: This dude's last name is clearly misspelled. It should be Sanders. Cuz this dude is gonna get fried like a chicken on defense. Suddenly the Mozgov trade makes a little more sense. They'll need Moz to protect the rim since their guards won't be stopping anyone and it's going to be a layup line in Orlando for opposing teams this year.

ACTION: The Bobcats select Damion McNary with the 4th pick.

REACTION: It should tell you something when an EXPANSION team is shopping its pick before the draft... it tells the liveblog that the Bobcats don't like this guy either. McNary is what the liveblog considers a "wretch 4" - a guy who doesn't like to bang underneath (lack of DRB) but also doesn't shoot the 3 like a stretch 4 can. Of course, the Bobcats want to lose for a while and rack up draft picks so of COURSE this guy is a fit.

ACTION: The Magic ship Courtney Lee, Jared Sullinger, and Shane Larkin to the Lakers for Andrew Bynum and the Lakers' 2017 first round pick.

REACTION: Remember how the liveblog told you it was going to be a layup line in Orlando? Yeah. Bynum and Moz together might get 2 or 3 blocks before committing all 12 of their fouls.

ACTION: The Bobcats trade Michael Beasley to the Lakers for C.J. Miles and the Lakers' 1st round pick in 2016.

REACTION: This just confirms the Liveblog's theory that the Bobcats are prepared to tank for the foreseeable future. And by that the liveblog means they are tanking "for as long as they have to keep paying C.J. Miles."

ACTION: The 76ers pick Van Grimaldi with the 5th pick.

REACTION: Grimaldi will probably take time to grow into his potential, but could be good by the time he gets a massive raise. Of course, the 76ers already have a guy who everyone thought would grow into his potential when he got a massive raise (Gordon Hayward). We're still waiting, Gordon.

ACTION: The Magic trade Patty Mills to the Pacers for cash (points).

REACTION: This is out of character for a Magic team that has been piling salary on like dessert at a buffet the last couple of seasons. The liveblog doesn't even know you anymore, false 9.

ACTION: The Knicks pay cash (3 points) to swap the #6 and #7 picks.

REACTION: You'd think the Nets would have extracted more except they admitted they didn't do their draft homework. In other words, the PBSL Nets think they are the NBA Nets.

ACTION: The Knicks draft PG Chet Dooley with the 6th pick.

REACTION: This might have been a brilliant pick if the Knicks hadn't given Jeremy Lin a max less than a season ago and are overloaded with guards anyway. The pick here was a 3 or a 4, not another 1. Unless the Knicks are trying to be the new Bucks and hoard point guards. Which the liveblog supposes could make sense considering there probably isn't another PG in this draft that will even be drafted in the 2nd round.

ACTION: The Nets draft PF Buddy Pedraza with the 7th pick.

REACTION: Wig has been out there saying he loves Pedraza. So, yeah, buyer beware on that! Pedraza has polish inside but is absolutely worthless more than 2 feet from the basket on either end of the court. Then again, the Nets DO have cap space now that Chris Kaman has fallen off the books, so maybe they have their eye on something in Free Agency.

ACTION: The Knicks send Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the Knicks 2nd round pick this year, and cash for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute

REACTION: Well, there's the defensive-minded forward the liveblog thought the Knicks ought to have picked up instead of Dooley. The liveblog is content its advice is being followed.

ACTION: The Timberwolves select Brian Stark with the 8th pick.

REACTION: Stark looks like the most ready-to-contribute offensive player in the draft (maybe even more than Pedraza). So naturally he will be asked to sit behind Andrew Wiggins and Otto Porter Jr. and ruin a potential Rookie of the Year campaign. Maybe he can mount a 6th man of the year campaign like Gary Harris did. Or maybe he'll be chuffed and tell management to trade him before opening day. Too soon to tell.

ACTION: The Pistons select Odis Jackson with the 9th pick.

REACTION: The liveblog is searching for words to express exactly how much the liveblog hates this pick. The liveblog will have to settle for pointing out that the only good thing about this pick is that the liveblog didn't have to wait two hours for an autopick to make this pick happen like last year's Pistons team made the liveblog wait.

ACTION: The Grizzlies select Aubrey Broomfield with the 10th pick.

REACTION: The liveblog is fairly sure that this is a watershed moment in the league, marking the first time a female has been selected in the draft. The liveblog is also a sexist pig because it is happy that Aubrey comes from a long line of homemakers considering the word Broom is in Aubrey's name. The liveblog would probably happy that Louie has finally found love if the liveblog had feelings. Which it doesn't.

ACTION: The Pelicans select Phil Millburn with the 11th pick.

REACTION: The liveblog is relieved Phil did not get drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Only one Flaming Cuyahoga river incident is enough. With a name like Milburn, clearly the Pelicans drafted an arsonist. The liveblog figures that's what he must have been doing while at Wisconsin because shooting 42% in college is not usually a harbinger of big league greatness.

ACTION: The Trailblazers select Phil Hogg with the 12th pick.

REACTION: Three words describe the mood in Portland right now. LIKE. A. BOSS. Phil is letting everyone know there's a new sheriff in town and that the rest of the division had best be ready to put up their Dukes or they're gonna be pushing up Daisies. It's hard to overstate how GENERALLY impactful this pick is.

ACTION: The Clippers select Jay Adkins with the 13th pick.

REACTION: The liveblog has reason to believe that the Clippers looked at Roy Hibbert and his 302-pound self and decided it was high time to find someone to help Roy work on his weight. Adkins is even skinnier than rail-thin Kevin Durant, so expect the whole Clippers team to go all Los Angeles health nut and get on the Adkins diet.
