2015 EXPANSION DRAFT EXPOSURE THREAD
Posted: Wed May 31, 2017 8:59 pm
In this thread, you will post the player(s) that you are exposing to the Bobcats for the expansion draft. As a reminder, here are the rules for exposure:
1. Players you are going to expose must already be under contract for next season. Should you expose a player with a team option or a player option as his contract for next season, that option immediately becomes guaranteed (whether the expansion team drafts the player or not). If you have a player (or players) with team options that you decline prior to the end of this season, and declining the player reduces the number of players you must expose, the table below will be updated accordingly.
2. When a player is selected in the expansion draft, all Bird Years, RFA rights, and so forth are conveyed to the expansion team exactly as though they had traded for the player in question. So if they draft a player currently on a first-round rookie deal, they will hold that player's RFA rights when the player's rookie deal expires. If they draft a player who will have Bird Rights when his contract expires, they will get those. They will be able to offer 120% of the previous year's contract to players they draft without Bird Rights, etc.
3. You may expose players that you signed in restricted free agency last season (players with a # in front of their name). You may not expose players with whom you may hold RFA rights in the 2015 off-season (i.e., expiring players). If the expansion team selects such a player, the RFA restriction on trading will be lifted immediately (i.e., they may trade him prior to RFA).
4. If you have 4 or fewer players under contract for next season, you do not need to expose anyone to the draft. If you have 5 through 9 players inclusive under contract, you must expose at least 1 player (you may expose more). If you have 10 players under contract you must expose 2 players. If you have 11 players you must expose 3, and so forth.
5. You will post the names of the player(s) you wish to EXPOSE in this thread. This list is due by the end of the regular season. If you do not choose enough players, the league office will automatically expose the player(s) on your roster with the lowest salary for next season.
6. You may not re-acquire a player selected in the expansion draft from your team for one season by any means (including a trade of that player to a third team then back to you) except if the player is waived and you sign him from the free agent pool through the normal waiver claim process.
