#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

As I mentioned in my Commissioner Transition thread, part of what I want to do in the league is "outsource" responsibilities out to GMs interested in taking a bigger role in the league. This is important on many levels.

A) It takes the burden off of 1 (or a few) people's back alleviating some pressure and stress.
B) It gives other owners a sense of "ownership" of part of the league.
C) Sometimes new ideas for the league come out when people get a chance to be more actively involved in maintaining the league.

I know we have somewhat done this already with lux tax and point allocation, etc. As we go along, more positions could become available if needed. But I think it is good to award people for their work and offering their time. If you want to take on a league responsibility, you will be awarded points for your efforts (towards your media allowance). Points will vary based on responsibility. These points can be claimed at the end of the season, upon completion of the responsibility. This is also a year-to-year thing. If you do it 1 year, you aren't locked in forever. People's lives change, and their availability can too. Obviously, preferences would be given to the person who performed the job the previous year; if they do not want to do continue, no biggies. It will be opened up to the rest of the league as an open position.

Here are some of the positions:

Lux Tax Coordinator (Owner = wignosy):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Calculate the lux tax thresholds
- Timely (after trade deadline) post up a thread listing out Teams that are over the cap and how much they owe
- Monitor teams to make sure they claim prior to completion of the Finals

DC Participation Coordinator (Owner = fearthebrow):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Track who submits their DCs on time
- Keep track of this for entire season and announce standings to league throughout/at the end of the season

Pick 'Em Coordinator (Owner = ???):
- Compensation: 10pts towards media allowance
- Post pick 'em prior to the respective upcoming sim 3 times a week
- Assign GMs to participate and make sure backups are found in case of no show

Media Point Distributor (Owner = IamQuailman):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Award points for media sessions (based on standing criteria for point awarding)
- Award points timely (prior to pre-regular season training, prior to all-star break training, prior to end of the season)

Sim Vegas Planner (Owner = Logpmess):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Developing Post-Season Tournament, Pre-Season Over-Under Picks, etc. rules
- Coordinating and running the post-season/pre-season "betting"

In-Season Training Tracker (Owner = Kucoach7):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Keeping track of players that are trained every season (pre-regular season training and all-star break)
- Updating thread after training threads are locked

RFA Coordinator (Owner = Wignosy):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Define cap holds for RFA period
- Track RFA Accept/Declines (as well as who is eligible for RFA)

Award Voting Coordinator (Owner = Loco89):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Setting up respective threads for policy and procedure, campaigning (MIP, GMOY, and 6MOY awards), and Results
- Field votes/ballots from GMs via PM and tally results
- Post threads timely (specifically for campaigning, which should be up 3-4 sims prior to the last sim of the season)

NBA Banner Creator (Owner = xist2inspire):
- Compensation: 5pts towards media allowance
- Creating banners for division, conference, and league champions, as well as award winners
- Create banner for the forum that is displayed when a new champion is crowned

Draft Lottery MC (Owner = ???):
- Compensation: UP TO 5PTS towards media allowance
- Putting on Draft Lottery Show, including pre-show and announcing picks
- Creativity is a plus - the more elaborate, the more points

Hall of Fame Coordinator (Owner = JNR):
- Compensation: UP TO 5PTS towards media allowance
- Posting up lists of retired veterans eligible for HOF
- Creating nomination threads, polls, and announcement threads

These are just some of the positions I came up with off the topic of my head, but if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all-ears.

All right, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'm going to accept the "NBA Banner Creator" position. I thought that "The Rafters" was a great idea when it was introduced, and I'd like to see it continue. I'm currently stocking up on NBA renders now so that I can start creating banners, so if there's any particular logo you'd like me to use for your banners, or if you'd like the style of your banners to be era-specific, then let me know.

(I'll mainly go off of the logos used in the index and personal preference otherwise)

I am relinquishing my post as Sim Pick Em guy. Unfortunately life right now is too much for me to start up and keep track of the game. Honestly, it would also do the game a benefit to see a new fresh set of eyes on it. I hope it continues in some fashion. I just can't keep doing it ATM. Sorry guys. I'm still gonna run the Hornets and maintain my team.

Yup lied again. This isn't happening. Wanted to do it but the time isn't there. Struggling to get my DC in today. This job is still OPEN.
