Center: Steven Hunter (17.7 PPG, 12.6 RPG, 3.9 BPG)
Honorable Mention: Tyson Chandler (14.9 PPG, 12.6 RPG, 3.3 BPG)

Although they have similar stat lines, I leaned towards Steven Hunter. At this point, his contributions are more valuable to his team than Tyson Chandler. Hunter at 31 years of age has been a consistent contributor for his entire career. With above 90 in all of the grit and grind stats for a big man, he should maintain his rebounds and blocks per game. Having over 60 in both inside and jump shot stats, he can maintain the point production as well. His only weakness is his quickness. Hopefully his stamina keeps him from an injury and we can see him claim the all-league 1st team honors.

Power Forward: Chris Bosh (38.5 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 1.9 BPG)
Honorable Mention: Carlos Boozer (30.5 PPG, 12.4 RPG, 1.5 SPG)

I’m not able to choose against the points leader in the league. At the moment, it looks like a two player race between Bosh and Durant. Bosh is averaging a double-double all while not having a teammate that tops 15 points per game. He is a legitimate MVP contender for the year. Definitely my pick for all-league 1st team. On a side note, the position of power forward is probably the strongest position in the league as there were a large number of players that came up right away for this position when doing this article.

Small Forward: Kevin Durant (37.1 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 4.0 APG)
Honorable Mention: Carmelo Anthony (31.3 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 1.5 SPG)

Another MVP caliber player, who is barely in second for the point leader. He carries the team on his back scoring that many points per game. He also is a top rebounder for his team. With the ball in his hands so much, he is only behind one player for the most assists on the Clippers. As a player that does it all, I think he deserves a spot on the all-league 1st team.

Shooting Guard: Ron Artest (24.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.9 APG, 3.0 SPG)
Honorable Mention: DeMar DeRozan (26.4 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 6.8 APG)

Ron Artest, much like Steven Hunter, seems to be winning a fight with father time. At the age of 33, he is a top contributer in the league. The reason he got the nod for the 1st team all-league team is for his defensive prowess. Averaging three steals per game, while still putting up monster offensive stats is an incredible feat for any player. Adding to his case is that he is still scoring this many points while playing next to another player scoring over 15 points per game.

Point Guard: Chris Paul (23.5 PPG, 10.0 APG, 2.5 SPG)
Honorable Mention: Russell Westbrook (17.8 PPG, 11.0 APG, 2.8 SPG)

Another difficult category so early in the season, point guards are looked for to be a balance of scoring, assisting, and defense. Chris Paul is averaging a double-double with over 20 points per game. The statistic that put him over all over players is his steals. He is a top performer in the league, and definitely deserves to be on the all-league 1st team.
