I nominate LHamilton for GMOY.
It wasn't done overnight, of course -- the best players on the Cavs this season were members of the team when LHamilton took over. But this offseason was the first chance he had to really make his team into what he wanted it to be. He got a first round pick for Randy Foye, then replaced him with a very successful FA period, signing Tim Thomas, Rasual Butler, and John Salmons to go along with re-signing Paul Pierce. This bevy of wings and players who can switch between 2-4 effortlessly has created a team that scores with the best of them and doesn't get too lost on defense.
They're the top scoring team in the East with 7 players who score in double figures. They are 6 in point differential. They are in the thick of things for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. And with Gasol an RFA, they are set up to continue this strong roster into next season.
LHamilton didn't walk into a dumpster fire of a team like new GMs have in the past. 42 gave him a few jars of really night Play-dough. But it was LHamilton who took that Play-doh and formed a team his way, and they've been proving that his way was the way to go.
Further proof he deserves GMOY: the computer elected him. Clearly the computer sees what we already know: LHamilton is the GM of the Year.

I nominate InnerGI for GMOY!
I kept hearing ALL SEASON LONG about how this team was over achieving. That's what people tell me. They say:
"Ohmagerd look at how bad those other teams are doing with all that talent!"
"Ohmagerd those other teams should be doing so much better!"
The Knicks may make the playoffs...they may not. But I've heard that 36 wins with that team is an ungodly feat. I've been told from people that the coaching job here is the best coaching job that's ever been done. The best. Never better, just the best. Believe me. I'm telling the truth. This is what I've heard. Saw it on the interwebs too.
Not sure we've ever given a GMOY to a team with less than 40 wins but I'm hearing that we should this year. I've even been told this may have been the greatest coaching job ever in the history of coaching jobs. Best ever. Folks, I'm just repeating what I'm hearing. It's true it's true, believe it. So vote for INNER GI for GMOY!!
And if he doesn't win, this award is stupid and rigged anyway. Always has been, if he loses that is. But he won't, because I know you people and you people won't let him down.

I nominate Myself for GMOY.
Didn't make too many moves this off season but the moves I made for the Spurs were important moves. First move was to acquire Kirk Hinrich in order to insure I have a proven PG until Russell Westbrook was ready to take over as a full time starter. Second move was to bring back and resign Scola to a deal to get him back in a spurs uniform and 3rd trading Mathews who I liked so much for a Stretch PF in Ryan Anderson and a future 1st pick. These moves helped out a lot and it shows on the court. Another move I made was having Okafor come off the bench to help make it better. These moves helped make the spurs better than last year.
Top Scoring team in the entire league and number 1 in point deferential.
hope I get a vote for GMOY.

The Facts:
I traded:
Blazers 2010 and 2012 1st
Nikola Pekovic
Hornets 2011 1st
Tiago Splitter
Blake Griffin
Antawn Jamison
2010 Timerwolves 1st
Hamed Haddadi
Chase Budinger
Ray Allen
19 points
For:
Ron Artest
Steven Hunter
Courtney Lee
Eddie Griffin
Richard Jefferson
Mouhamed Sene
The Results:
27 win improvement
5th seed in the West
The Spin:
Expectations for my team may have been a little higher than I actually managed but my team cohesion is still bad so this level of success is essentially unprecedented. Also, I made this huge leap forward while holding on to Derrick Rose and picking up Courtney Lee so I still have a future.
