Wizards Weather Forecast

Oh, you were expecting eye candy? Sorry, too bad. We here in DC are coming off yet another partly cloudy season that ended with a quick, but fierce storm system that came down from the New Jersey area. Yes, even though we survived Troy Murphy's terrible injury and reached the playoffs, once again we failed to make an impact.
Our dry season was even dryer than normal, with not much notable to report. We re-signed the guys we felt we had to, signed the few guys we felt could help, and watched TC pass with generally fair winds, and one isolated shower. Also, our captain, Kirk, stepped down as executive producer and retired to San Antonio, so you can blame him for the format change. We'll miss him, but at the same time we welcome some of the new staff members coming in, such as JaVale McGee.
And now what you've all been waiting for, the upcoming forecast. And...*takes a deep breath*
...get your gear ready folks, because it's likely to storm soon. Look outside and it's pretty gray, a few big clouds here and there. Expect it to stay that way today and into the evening, but by Friday we're expecting the first few showers to start rolling in, and perhaps heavier rainfall moving into next week. Now we don't know if this system will spread around the nation or just live and die in DC, but we do expect rain. Of course, daily weather forecasts are always iffy, but don't be surprised if you get a surprise, know what I mean? This is Xist, and that was your weather report. Oh, and here's your eye candy.

Nick Melon; The Advocate: What's more appealing, the local weather woman giving the Wizards future report or Danny Granger growing into a less shitty player... as another GM had dubiously dubbed him to be in the past?

Do you always use eye candy to distract people on how your teams perform? Do you think it is time for a rebuild?

Probably the weather woman, since Granger hasn't "grown into" much, he's never been a crappy player since he arrived here in DC, he's consistently delivered every season. And I don't usually use eye candy, but I figured it'd bring all the reporters to the yard this time around. As for a rebuild? Yeah, it might be time, which is a damn shame considering how well
this rebuild went when talking about Carl, Zaza, and Danny.

GWR: Say that this imaginary scepter I'm holding belongs to the future face of the team. As in, whoever holds this scepter is going to be the guy who leads the team back to the glory days of Wizard basketball. Who would I give this scepter to? Is it someone on the team currently? Am I holding it until you draft someone worthy?

There has been talk about too many "distractions" around the locker room. This press conference seems to confirm this. Are you actively encouraging this kind of environment as a recruiting tool?

Do you have anything to conceal my boner? Perhaps Javale McGee with his high block potential can prevent people from seeing this?

"Imaginary" is the right word, because there's never been a single guy responsible when it comes to our past successes. Our old Finals team was because of Joe Smith, David Wesley, Rob Horry, and Horace Grant. Our best team in the early/mid-2000s featured Shaq, Lamar Odom, Anthony Johnson, and Rashard Lewis. The idea that just one player can suddenly tranform us into a legit contender is as imaginary as it gets, and probably led to our embarrassing string of untimely playoff exits in the Lewis era. We're not looking for one, we're looking for eight. A full rotation, playing as one.
As for the distractions, we've had crazy press conferences since the 90s, this is nothing new. I don't know what it looks like to the rest of the league, but everybody here knows that I expect results in the gym and on the court, no matter what else goes on.
Quail, I ain't puttin' my hands nowhere near that $#!7, bruh.

Well, since you asked...Roxana, could you give us a recap of the weather, please?
Roxana: Sure. Don't expect much in the way of sunshine guys and gals, it looks like we could be in for a rough season.
