I nominate Shawn Marion, Power Forward for the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 71 appearances, he has come off the bench 47 times. On the season, he is averaging nearly 32 minutes, 16 points, and 8 rebounds. While Tony Allen is the defensive stud on the roster, Marion has come in second in steals with 1.6 a game, and he has turnovers and personal fouls low. Seeing as he is a little on the smaller end for the front court, his numbers prove he can still play with both sides of the ball down low.

As far as season efficiency ratings are concerned, his PER comes in at a whopping 22.0 with Offensive Efficiency at 109.5 and Defensive Efficiency at 99.0. His stellar performance has earned him starts the last few sims, which is the only reason he will end the year with no more than 35 starts.

In my mind, you only have one choice for 6th man of the year this season, and that choice is Shawn Marion.

MAKE THE SIXTH MAN GREAT AGAIN!!!

I'd like to Nominate Nate Robinson

Stats:

Minutes: 22.7
Points: 11.2
Assists: 2.2
FG%: 43.1%
3p%: 41.3%
TS%: 55.3%
PPS: 1.24
PER: 16.7

Nate is a true 6th man. Having only started 4 games this year, and being under 30MPG, he's performed exceptionally well off the bench for the Knicks this year.

With Tim Duncan's arrival in Atlanta, Pau Gasol has done a great job leading the Hawks' bench bunch (0 starts) as its primary scoring option this season (with four other scorers in the starting lineup - Duncan, Gay, Harris, and Terry I needed to make sure my bench wasn't punchless). So I'm nominating Gasol. http://pbsl.ijbl.net/players/player788.htm

His conventional stats look great at 19 ppg on .527 shooting (and an excellent .818 mark at the charity stripe), 7.6 rpg, 2.4 apg, and 1.2 bpg.

For those that like advanced metrics, he's showing a PER of 21.8 with 12.5 EWA and a True Shooting Percentage of .586 (scoring 1.35 points per shot) as of this writing.

Vote Gasol!
