#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

It's back again! The Weekly Sim Pick Ems for the 1999-2000 season. For those unfamiliar with the concept, here are the guidelines...

Pick'em Panel Rules

1. All games will have a point spread, a point total amount of over/under, or just an instant Pick Em.

2. There is NO Wild-card (as that was a freebie anyway). And there will be 7 games per week.

3. At the end of the season, the winning division members will get to collect their +5 point winnings.

4. I will assign pickers. If you are the picker can't do it, find a sub. Please confirm you're taking your spot in a PM to me something like "Pick'em, I got it" is just fine.

5. All the members of the division with the most right picks at the end of the season will be claiming 5 points.

6. Picks are due by 5pm on Sim Day. Late picks before sim will not be accepted.

11/2 - Clippers (+3.5) @ Spurs
11/3 - Lakers @ Timberwolves (-6.5)
11/5 - Nuggets @ Celtics: Total 190 Over/Under/Push
11/6 - Grizzlies @ Pacers: Pick Em!
11/9 - Nets @ Bucks: Pick Em!
11/11 - Cavs @ Raptors: Total 185 Over/Under/Push
11/13 - Kings (-7.5) @ Rockets

I'll try to edit with explanations later, but mondays are a little crazy (usually don't finish work until around 7 pacific), so these are picks from my phone:

11/2 - Clippers (+3.5) @ Spurs - Spurs it's early season, and hard to tell so when in doubt take the home team
11/3 - Lakers @ Timberwolves (-6.5) - What a great season opener for both teams, I think the Lakers have something to prove and at least cover.
11/5 - Nuggets @ Celtics: Total 190 Over/Under/Push - I'm taking the over because of Boston, I think we'll score this year and get scored on, making the over very possible.
11/6 - Grizzlies @ Pacers: Pick Em! - I'll take the Grizzlies and their youth movement.
11/9 - Nets @ Bucks: Pick Em! - Bucks at home, Jalen leads them to victory.
11/11 - Cavs @ Raptors: Total 185 Over/Under/Push - I know it's just preseason but these two teams put up points, 185 sounds low.
11/13 - Kings (-7.5) @ Rockets - Kings were rolling when healthy, and everyone starts the season healthy, I'll take Sactown on the road.

11/2 - Clippers (+3.5) @ Spurs
No clue. Good pickem. I'm going to take the Spurs because i think they have just enough talent to win this at home.

11/3 - Lakers @ Timberwolves (-6.5)
Can't pick against myself even though the Twolves are the better team. They won a ton of games last year and will do it again. So im picking myself for no reason

11/5 - Nuggets @ Celtics: Total 190 Over/Under/Push
I think both team can fill it up, but at their core, they're based around defense and rebounding. The Nuggets best player is still D Rob and he'll have to go against defensive nightmare Zo.

11/6 - Grizzlies @ Pacers: Pick Em!
I think the Grizz have more talent, but i think it'll take a bit to figure out. The Pacers have more win now talent.

11/9 - Nets @ Bucks: Pick Em!
This really is a toss up. Nets have more talent 1-5, but not by much. I'm going to hand this over to Iamsemen because he's at home.

11/11 - Cavs @ Raptors: Total 185 Over/Under/Push
Cavs have 4 guys who can fill it up and Raptors have 2 as of now.. but they're going to be great at it. I'm a little weary of taking the under with Jones on finley, but luckily the Rapts are at home. I'll take the over barely.

11/13 - Kings (-7.5) @ Rockets
Kings are going to be something special this season, but 7.5 is a lot to give up away. I think the Kings win, but it's going to be a close one.

11/2 - Clippers (+3.5) @ Spurs
Spurs are primed to compete for the division this year. Just like we predict they will every year. But this year is it. SPURS

11/3 - Lakers @ Timberwolves (-6.5)
Webber v. Garnett will be a battle for the ages, but this game will be won on the wing. Kidd will be the difference maker. LAKERS

11/5 - Nuggets @ Celtics: Total 190 Over/Under/Push
This will be a low scoring affair, with Doug Christie leading the way in scoring. UNDER

11/6 - Grizzlies @ Pacers: Pick Em!
Pacers starting 5 is ready to compete for the Central division again, and they are at home. Grizzlies have great talent, but probably another year or two before it all clicks. PACERS

11/9 - Nets @ Bucks: Pick Em!
No clue what to expect out of my team. We know what Rider and Gugs can do. NETS.

11/11 - Cavs @ Raptors: Total 185 Over/Under/Push
This SHOULD be a high scoring game. Finley, Jones, Billups, Mills, Brand should all be going off. OVER

11/13 - Kings (-7.5) @ Rockets
Kings look like the team to beat not only in the pacific, but in the league as a whole. Camby will slow down Shaq and the Rockets will collapse when needing to look elsewhere for production. KINGS

Board time is off by an hour. Check your time stamp. This post is at about 7:38 Central. Board will call it 8:38. Doug got it in with about half an hour to spare. In some themes the time is shown at the top of the page; you can see it is off an hour there too.

Found board setting and fixed. Board thought daylight savings was on.
