About 40 minutes left for the Cavs to screw up this pick. But they've probably better off having the pick simmed. Keep you posted.

That's not a bad idea. Why not have someone pick Chris Paul for me rather than actually typing it? I mean, typing is hard. You have to press all the buttons, then you have to not press them. It's get old quick, kinda like the Hawks.
You thought I was going to say the Rockets, huh? Nah, 5 guys at least 30, that's it, massive tax, no points, no flexibility, 26th pick basically only adds tax. They are already old . . . there's no "getting" to it. Time to call it.
So, yeah, maybe I'll just let it sim.
Thanks.

Hey the Cavs make a pick. Chris Paul. Must be nice just having to look at the draft preview page and make a pick. Hard to criticize this pick, but this is the Cavs who previously racked up on veteran contracts, traded away high picks, and let go of all flexibility only to make the playoffs once as an 8th seed and get eliminated in the first round so anything is possible.

Yup, had fun doing it, and got Chris Paul.
Rockets ages: 30, 30, 31, 32, 32.
Rockets salaries: $70,618,729 (2005), $74,545,994 (2006, for 4 players, less if they do not pick up Anderson).
Rockets picks: 26th (2005, none (2006)
Rockets Tax Bill: 103 points
Rockets Bank: 74 points (after recent accounting and not paying tax bill)
Rockets Tax Bracket with 5 current players: 102 points (4-year repeater, 1.33-1.36 over cap)
Rockets Season result: No title
Cavs have Chris Paul, two first overall picks under contract, young talent, and cap space. (and that was amare, a non-lotto pick, and like a 10th, so not exactly big hole in the roster, especially when you land Chris Paul).
So, open negotiations: I'll take Z or Webber or Anderson off your hands for 10 points. You know you need them. Take them. Feel free to counter reasonably.
Either way, glass houses and all, and I'm not sure you have the snark gene.

Doesn't matter. Still closer to winning it all than you are. Got to a championship. Still have the talent to get back. The tax won't hurt me because I can only sign minimum players anyway so the tax doesn't mean crap to me. You have a long way to go to compete and when you tried to compete, it was a disaster so you had to tank to start over. And Redd and Doleac aren't good contracts. Good luck in your rebuild.

Funny. I think people know you are just repeating what I say back to me but worse, which really isn't trash talking, you know?
I'm glad you failed on a bigger stage with way more talent and experience.
What's cute is that you think that tax bill just goes away magically once your "title jog" is over. I think that'll be a thorn in your side for season after season after season if you keep it together.
Those contracts were good for getting Chris Paul, and I think they get better every day. We both have something to prove on the court, but you are really not good at this trash talking. Check the other thread at some point, take some notes. Or just copy.

Webber called me and asked how can a team more stacked than the Wolves ever were fail every time. I didn't have an answer but I'm sure you do.
After all, I'm guessing there are plenty of mirrors in your house.

I'm not trash talking. Im just pointing out how you tried to do what I did and finished as an 8th seed in the East and then had to tank when you realized you didn't know what you were doing and then tried to criticize my roster even though you failed miserably at doing the same thing.

Webber wouldn't call someone who actively rooted against him.

Still waiting for Pauly and the Pacers for their pick. Is he working out a trade? Will Paul Pierce be back or is his replacement being drafted?

I know you aren't trash talking (I said that), but you are trying to.
I also said before I started that I had no idea what I was doing, set a time frame for it, and experimented. I realized this thing you says from the jump and acknowledged it publicly. This is not news.
That said, it's not failure since there was no long term plan, no chance to succeed.
Seriously, you simply have not been paying attention. It's sad. If had had been, maybe you could run a team.

Yes you're right. If I had paid more attention to your team, it would make me a better GM just so I could know what not to do. In fact, I urge every GM here to follow your team more closely just so they can learn how to avoid being a disaster.

Pacers go with Deron. Can't really argue with this pick. A lot of upside at this position. Long-term this could work out just like Anthony Johnson, in a Wizards uniform.

I would also recommend not executing a 3-year plan that you plan to abandon in order to rebuild as a rebuild plan. Good thing that was not why I did not use it as a rebuild plan, either.

Good luck with ur current rebuild. CP3 is a great starting point. The key long term is not too surround him with veterans with long term contracts. Fill holes with short term deals while drafting the core unless you get fortunate in free agent.
