42 Liveblogs the Liveblog, Pointlessly and Pointslessly

Since the draft is so slow, I've decided to cover the liveblog until the draft action heats up, at least.
Wig is liveblogging the hell out of the deaddraft, for what it's worth.

Wig's initial post appears to be straightforward series of statements about the premier lottery picks, but that's because he's broadcasting in standard definition. We are not only broadcasting in high definition, so, better, we have done audio and visual analysis with the most advanced software the NSA is using against you.
This is some nice mental warfare laden with left-handed compliments and the like. My simian cohost, Nanner, agrees with me that we are really quite envious.
We are not envious of him lacking a cohost. Wig is a good analysis, a better mental warfare general, but a poor showman.
To translate, he put the Pistons on the clock, scared the Jazz who are in the same position as the Hawks but with a good draft pick, rubbed Seattle's nose in it (they should have tanked and did not), and openly made fun of the Kings on a few levels as we all do.
I give the opening a 7/10. Strong, but no jugular. Dedution for lack of HD, monkey, and jugular.

Again, a nice take on the Sixers trade. Downplayed all the moves that others saw as far. We agree with the take, but given that it's a cross-conference match up and both teams have naturally long timelines, the tack taken was a little off. A better nut shot would be that the Timberwolves should have done the deal after their free agency round to see if the could have gotten a discount on the kind of player they needed and kept a future asset. The trade was good, but maybe not the best move on the table. For the Sixers, anything is an improvement and they have to do years of neglect. The Scola move is the only one that matters.
Nice take, needed a little more commitment. 8/10. Nanners said 9/10, but he's a monkey, so Frye him.
And Frye Chim Chim.

The Pistons two-fer is really nice. The Dwight compliment is a good one, and the praise of the bad Martin pickup masterful. Buttering this guy up the whole way on a jumpshooter. Yeah, they need to dump those big contracts at some point, but lighting the fire now so the Pistons pay to dump them while they continue to be bad, but not bad enough, plays right into his hands.
We all want to know if this GM is lucky or good. Wig is pressing so we all find out.
10/10, Nanners agrees, smart monkey.

Again, 10/10. This was clearly the pick to make, and Wig busts his time-to-reach-the-decision. Next comes a jab about timelines, and the cap situation comment finishes him. All the while, he is pumping the trades, linking the trades.
A joy to watch.

Can you call it a live blog if it's delayed 24 hours?
Aw shit. Am I on the no trade list? Goddamn it.

I can call it that. He's delayed a few minutes or more, I'm just a factor of 100 off (so far). I'll catch up.
Nah, you are not on the no trade list (yet).

The call on the Spurs selection of Josh Smith was accurate but with no sizzle. 4/10 because of the historical note and the mildest of ribs, otherwise 1/10.

The analysis of the Kings trade and pick is stuttering, reaching, and not nearly as punishing of the Kings as the League wants. The joke about trading McGrady hurt more than helped.
The later trade showed there was more to story, and Wig made the most of a bad situation.
6/10. Nanners threw poop.

The Magic picking Harris is probably a good move that makes that Wig nervous, so he panned it, but not too much. Just right.
Bringing up the next pick was a nice stylistic touch.
7/10.

The Nets call seems bland, but Wig is pumping JR and a Ford trade while critiquing a rising roster. I'll give this an 8/10 because of the stealth of attack. Good job.
