Don't forget round 3 bids are due Wednesday at 5pm Central time.
WHERE AND HOW TO SUBMIT BIDS:
Bids should be submitted to The Negotiator via Private Message (click here to send a Private Message to The Negotiator). This Private message should have the subject "TEAM NAME- Free Agent Bids 1999" (substitute your team's name for the words "TEAM NAME" in quotes). Place all of your Free Agent bids in a single message, with one entry per line, formatted as follows:
Player Name; Initial Year's Salary; Yearly Raise Percentage; Total Number of Years; (if desired: Team Option/Player Option)
For example, the Hawks' Private Message should have the subject:
"Hawks - Free Agent Bids 1999, Round 1"
and might have the following as the body:
Eric Montross; $7,632,314; 12.5%; 5
Khalid Reeves; $7,632,314; 10.0%; 4
Brooks Thompson; $3,000,000; 3.5%; 2
RULES ON LEGAL BIDS:
Each team may submit up to ten (10) bids. Bids in excess of ten will be ignored.
The maximum starting salary that can be offered to a player is based on his years of experience. You may check this amount using http://pbsl.ijbl.net/check.htm and entering his years of experience.
If a player ended last season on your team AND his player page says he has at least 3 Bird Years, your team has "Bird Rights" with that player.
For players to which your team holds Bird Rights:
A starting salary of up to the maximum for a player with his years of service regardless of cap situation.
Yearly raises of 0% to 12.5%, in increments of 0.5% (i.e., 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% etc.)
Contract lengths of anywhere from 1 to 5 years.
If desired, may designate the final year of a multi-year deal as "team option" or "player option" (if neither is selected, the default is "guaranteed")
For players to which your team does NOT hold Bird Rights:
A starting salary up to the current maximum for a player with his years of service (use http://pbsl.ijbl.net/check.htm to check this) OR the amount of salary cap space your team has available (use http://pbsl.ijbl.net/capreport.htm to check this), whichever is LESS. If your team has no cap space remaining, you are still permitted to offer contracts for the "minimum" (varies based on a player's years of experience) in the first year. Minimum contracts may still offer multiple years at the minimum.
Yearly raises of 0% to 10.0% in increments of 0.5% (i.e., 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% etc.)
Contract lengths of anywhere from 1 to 4 years.
If desired, may designate the final year of a multi-year deal as "team option" or "player option" (if neither is selected, the default is "guaranteed")
