#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

Hello everyone,

I am here today to answer your questions. I know you probably won't have much, but here we are. Last season was a dud. We got knocked out in the second round of the playoffs. We really thought we had a chance at the Finals, especially after getting Cheeks to run PG. After the failure of last season, I realized we needed to shake some things up. I initially thought that it was going to be Ralph, since I felt that he would get the biggest return and would help Hakeem out. I really feel like Hakeem is the best big in the league, but having Ralph limits his abilities some. So I went into this season thinking I was going to move him. Then, Quailman blindsided me with an offer. It was so good of an offer for Wilkins, and even for both sides, that I felt it was good to move on before posting a block post on Nique. Where posting the block potentially played my hand a bit and could cause Quail to back out or lower his deal.

Admittedly, I had already had a deal in place for Ralph at the time, but it never materialized, so I was even more happy to get the Wilkins deal done. I will say for all the jokes I make about Quail, this was an easy trade and I am always glad to have talks with him (even when it does get annoying as Frye).

I was even more excited when Jackson and Porter both had great camps. They look like a great core moving forward.

After UFA, and TC, I really feel like I built a strong balance of young and old to compete this year. I am still opening to moving Ralph potentially but that is more of a luxury at this point and I would need to be swayed I think. I think this team may be even stronger than the team I had last year. Where we have a deeper lineup and are not as reliant on the starters.

Starting Lineup:
Hakeem
Ralph
Tucker
Jackson
Porter

Jim Peterson looks like a good player that could already slide into this starting lineup if it weren't for Ralph. He seems like a good fit next to Hakeem since he doesn't look to score as much. He isn't even fully developed yet, so he will only get better. What do you see as his role on this team, and is he the future at power forward for the Celtics?

Gotta wait and see. I can for sure see him in that role but I don't know what the future holds for this team. Like I said, I am open to moving Ralph, but I am kinda flying by the seat of my pants a little bit.

Nick Melon; Charlotte Observer: How encouraging is it for the rest of the roster to see Robert Parish at the age of 35 still putting in the work to maintain his game instead of taking the paycheck to sit on the bench for the rest of his days?

The Celtics have now traded for him twice. If he doesn't feel the love that is on him. The Cavs can for sure make an offer.

It is a good thing to have and part of why I highlighted having a balanced team from an age perspective.

Steve Duin, the Oregonian:

Both Jackson and Porter are used to being ball-dominant; which one are you going to convince to defer to the other and how will you do that?

I’m hoping they can play nice in the sandbox and figure it out themselves honestly. If not, I’ll figure it out as the season goes.
